Galliani: We Can Win Intertoto Cup

Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani has revealed that the club have signed up for the Intertoto Cup.
The Rossoneri are having a dreadful season, and are looking unlikely to qualify for the Champions League as they are currently in fifth place, four points behind fourth-placed Fiorentina.

If this wasn’t bad enough, even a UEFA Cup position is not guaranteed, as with Catania and Lazio possible winners of the Coppa Italia, a European place could be taken away from the league.

"We even signed up for the Intertoto Cup when we were top of the League and were 40 points ahead of seventh," Galliani told the Corriere dello Sport.

"Don't forget that [Coach] Carlo Ancelotti won the Intertoto Cup with Juventus. And if he did it with Juve, I don't see why he shouldn't with Milan."

Milan have a huge game in Serie A this Saturday evening when they travel to Turin to take on Juventus. The game finished goalless when the two sides met at San Siro on December 1. :D

Galliani: Dinho and Sheva are ours

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani claims the Rossoneri have a “180 per cent chance” of signing both Ronaldinho and Andriy Shevchenko.

There are reports in the peninsula that Milan are closing in on an agreement with Barcelona for the transfer of unsettled Brazilian ace Ronaldinho.

At the same time, President Silvio Berlusconi has stated that he expects to secure the return of former striking star Shevchenko and Galliani doesn’t believe the deals to be mutually exclusive.

“Ronaldinho and Shevchenko are 180 per cent Milan players,” he revealed to journalists last night.

Press sources state that agent Ernesto Bronzetti acted as a middleman in a meeting between Barca’s Txiri Begiristain and Galliani on Thursday evening to discuss Dinho’s future.

Inter had been in the frame to swoop for the two-time FIFA World Player of the Year, but they now seem to be out of the race.

“We only want to talk to Milan,” Dinho’s agent and brother Roberto De Assis confirmed. “He will either go there or stay at Barcelona.”

Bronzetti is expected to arrive in Italy’s fashion capital at the weekend to smooth talks between Galliani and De Assis.

How much is 180 per cent ?

I know that Suazo was 100% theirs and they wrote about it on their official site that they've signed Suazo. The deal failed later and they became the laughing stock of the world.
But 180% ?????

Ancelotti Welcomes Ronaldinho & Sheva

Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has welcomed the likely signings of Ronaldinho and Andriy Shevchenko

Ronaldinho & Sheva

Reports have been strengthening over the past week or so that Milan were closing in on Ronaldinho and Shevchenko and last night Vice President Adriano Galliani stated that both were “180 per cent Milan players”.

“Shevchenko? I never expressed myself negatively on his possible return, nor that he could not play together with Pato,” said Ancelotti at today’s press conference.

“I just limited myself to say that the two players have similar characteristics and in any case I’m convinced that f Sheva returns he would be useful to this team.

“Ronaldinho? Intriguing. For us he would be a new player, between a 'trequartista’ and an attacker.”

I'll comment after they actually do sign them both instead of bubbling on rumorsville

But if they do indeed sign them both then I think it will be good for italian football by shifting the balance of power somewhat back to serie A for which it has been lost for tha past few.

It tastes soo good but it stings

Report: Nerazzurri snatch Hleb
Saturday 12 April, 2008

Reports in the Italian media maintain Inter have agreed a five-year contract with Arsenal’s Alexander Hleb and £11m transfer.

While Barcelona among others were also interested in making a bid for the Belarus international, the newspapers in the peninsula insist there is only one winner.

Inter are said to have agreed a five-year contract with Hleb worth almost £2m per season plus a £11m transfer fee to the Gunners.

He is earmarked as the ideal replacement for Luis Figo, who is set to leave the club at the end of this term.

Figo had originally planned to retire and work as a director, but there is talk he has instead decided to keep going and end his career in America before training to be a Coach in Portugal.

Candidates for Figo’s position in the team had included Deco, but Inter considered the Barcelona midfielder to be too old for the 'new’ Nerazzurri.
