Napoli fans banned from Juve

Napoli fans have been barred from travelling to Turin for the big match with Juventus, while there are restrictions on Roma-Milan and the Derby della Capitale.

The Osservatorio in charge of security in Italian sporting events has given its verdict on the upcoming Serie A games.

Napoli supporters will not be allowed to enter Turin’s Stadio Olimpico for the clash with Juventus on March 16 amid fears over crowd safety.

There are also restrictions on two Roma encounters, as only one ticket per person will be released for the game with Milan on March 15 and the derby against Lazio on March 19.

The one ticket per person rule also applies to Napoli-Fiorentina at the San Paolo in a midweek round.

I just read in a Dutch newspaper that from all the goals Inter made this season in the league, not one has been scored by an Italian player, a big disgrace if you ask me

Lippi Names Milan Shopping List

According to reports in Italy, Marcello Lippi is ready to take over as Milan Coach provided his wish-list of five top-class players is met by the club hierarchy.

Carlo Ancelotti’s future at San Siro is in huge doubt following the team’s disappointing exit from the Champions League earlier in the week.

Marcello Lippi has been heavily linked with replacing Ancelotti, but according to the Corriere dello Sport, he is only prepared to take over if the five following players are signed by the club: Mauro Camoranesi, Vincenzo Iaquinta (Juventus), Ricardo Quaresma (Porto), Gianluca Zambrotta (Barcelona), Fabio Cannavaro (Real Madrid).

This could pose some problems for a number of reasons. The first is political. Camoranesi and Iaquinta would be difficult to acquire, given the fact that they are playing for rivals Juventus.

The second factor is economic. As Milan only reached the last 16 of the Champions League, and are struggling to reach next season’s competition, it is impossible to begin negotiating summer transfers until they know if they are going to finish in the top four of Serie A.

Failure to do so would certainly rule out the signing of any of these players, with the exception of Zambrotta who it is rumoured has already give his word to a summer transfer.

I think it does hold some truth.Lippi would definatley be amongst the list of possible coaches to take over the Milan job IMO.And if he does decide to do that,im sure he'd love Iaquinta in his team because he seems to like him a lot as a player.Im not too sure about the other players though.I doubt if Lippi would be silly enough to think of Cannavaro as the solution to Milan's already ageing defence.Zambrotta on the other hand,is probably going to Milan regardless of wether Lippi wants him or not.

And he's also a big fan of Quaresma. He even recommended him to Juve at the begining of the season.

Milan bid for Brazilian Nedved

Milan are once again looking to Brazil for their summer shopping with Fluminense midfielder Thiago Neves – nicknamed the new Pavel Nedved.

According to Brazilian newspaper O’Globo, the 23-year-old is the ideal figure to rejuvenate their ageing midfield.

Neves has already impressed with his club in the Copa Libertadores, has scored 20 goals in 60 games and is an Under-23 international.

The Rossoneri are eager to snap him up before he appears in the Beijing Olympics in August, as his price-tag could shoot up with a good showing.

Neves is a versatile player, as his fans have played on his tactical resemblance to Juve’s Czech hero by calling him Thiago Nedveds.

He could play out wide on the left, which is a role that has traditionally been problematic in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

Fluminense Vice-President Tote Menezes has boosted talk of negotiations by publicly urging Milan to “make a formal offer.”
