Ancelotti: We Need All 15 Points

Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti says that his side have to win all five of their remaining games if they are to have any hope of qualifying for the Champions League.

The Rossoneri look likely to miss out on the competition they have made their own in recent years, as they trail fourth-placed Fiorentina by four points going into tomorrow’s game with Reggina.

Reggina

The change of coach brought Reggina good game ideas,” said Ancelotti.

“It has brought them confidence and results. Tomorrow it will be a delicate game, we shall find a closed door, the usual scenario in our home games. After Torino, there will be no one waiting for us anymore.

“There are still five games and we shall play all our chances only if we win them all. It will be very difficult to obtain 15 points, but with less than 15 points it will be almost impossible to qualify for the Champions League.

“It will be tough because there is the derby in the middle, but we must try. If Inter wants to celebrate the Scudetto against us, I say that it will not be easy.”

Injuries

Ancelotti also gave an injury update ahead of tomorrow’s match, and says that Massimo Oddo and Alexandre Pato are both fit again.

“Oddo is fine, he trained with the team, he is available, but has not yet recovered to play from the beginning, as he still needs to work on the strength,” Carletto noted.

“Pato can play from the beginning. However yesterday Dida injured himself and the day before that Maldini.

“Maldini has an injury to an important muscle of his thigh. I’m not a doctor but from my personal experience I think that he will recover within 20 days. Seedorf? He’s available.”

Gattuso

Finally Ancelotti commented on the rumours that Gennaro Gattuso will leave the club in the summer.

“Gattuso? He did not manifest to me the intention to leave,” said the coach.

“He’s an important part of this team, and he will return back to normal.

“However, I cannot respond to what he is thinking. I don’t know anything, as with me he did not talk about these things. If he manifested this to someone, everything will go down to the fact that the club will never sell him.”
