pato's mystery injury?

The teenager has made a stunning start to his career at San Siro, and has scored seven goals in just 14 Serie A appearances.

However he has been sidelined with a mysterious muscular injury in his adductor muscle, and has missed the games against Cagliari and Juventus.

Milan doctors have undergone tests on the striker, but have been unable to find anything wrong with him.

Pato is still unable to train with the first team, and cannot run, or kick the ball without feeling pain.

This is all a matter of concern to Milan, who will be hoping that there isn’t a repeat of the whole Ronaldo scenario.

Before suffering his serious injury in February, El Fenomeno was also sidelined by a similarly mysterious injury which did not show up in tests.

Pippo Inzaghi will continue to deputise for Pato against Reggina this weekend, and will be hoping to continue his hot-streak, having scored four goals in his last two games.

Milan lab - I always wondered what is the hype about ?
Every Milan fan i know is praising the Milan lab saying how they have some modern tools and they are the greatest experts in sports medicine, and yet Milan are the team with most injured players. Before every match they have 5,6 or more injured players.
And not only the grandpas, but the younger players also.

Milan lab = Brazilian Spa

btw has Dida recovered from his bench injury?
Bench injuries are the worst ones. When the bench hits you you're out for at least 2 months. Just look at the other 0 players in football history who were injured by the bench.
Dida recovered though, but he had a "pleasant" surprise when he recovered and when he saw that Ancelotti really considers Zeljko Kalac as Milan's main keeper.

Juventus GM Blanc swipe at Milan clubs: Where will you be in 20 years?

Juventus GM Jean-Claude Blanc has taken a swipe at AC Milan and Inter as he reflects on the board's success in the last 12 months.

Almost two years ago, Blanc declared it would take the club five years to return to the Champions League after their demotion to Serie B. Of those comments, Blanc told Tuttosport: "My reasoning was different: five years to rebuild the squad of 2006, which was built piece by piece over time. But to return to win again, I had hoped it would happen before then.

"And what we've achieved, with a mixture of youth and experience, is just what I had hoped for.

"Last Friday, I had a meeting with all the leaders of our youth system. I reminded them that our project will not change, we will not buy Ronaldinho, but instead we want to build at home."

Blanc also questioned the wisdom of AC Milan and Inter over their reliance on wealthy benefactors for their success.

He continued: "(Massimo) Moratti, in five or six years, has lost a billion dollars at Inter. (Silvio) Berlusconi has no liquidity problems, if he wants to buy a player for AC Milan, he pays ... but we cannot do that.

"I wonder, in twenty years time, when there is no more Moratti or no more Berlusconi, where will Inter and Milan end up?"
lol

Ibrahimovic has been in poor form in recent months and one of the main reasons for this has been a chronic knee injury that he has been playing with.

In recent weeks the former Juve man has been resting the problem, and he has not featured since the 1-1 draw with Lazio on March 29.

He has now travelled to his homeland of Sweden in an attempt to soothe the complaint, meaning he will miss the next two matches against Torino and Cagliari.

The aim was to return in time for the derby with Milan on May 4, however it is possible that Ibra may have to rest for the remainder of the club season, if he wants to be fit for Euro 2008.

"I have tried to train with my team-mates, but I did not feel good,” said Ibrahimovic.

“The pain was different from day to day. To heal it completely I would have to stop completely for two months but I do not want to do this because of Euro 2008.

“The goal now is to minimize the pain.”

Inter Closing In On Konko

According to the latest reports out of Italy, Inter Milan have intensified their interest in highly-rated Genoa wing-back Abdoulay Konko.

The Nerrazzurri have been tracking the 24-year-old since early into the season, and have clearly been impressed by his contribution to Genoa's surprisingly resilient showing this campaign.

Inter sports chief Marco Branca reportedly met with his Genoa counterpart Stefano Capozucca to discuss the player, who has already publicly declared that he would jump on the opportunity to join the Italian champions in the summer.

Genoa would loathe to lose one of their star performers, but an offer in excess of 8m Euro will likely prove too hard from them to resist.

The versatile Frenchman grew up in the Juventus youth system, but was eventually sold in a co-ownership deal with Siena, before moving outright to Genoa at the beginning of this season.
