Inter have officially announced the signing of Cameroon international left-back Pierre Nlend Wome.

The defender was linked with the Nerazzurri this morning and has today signed a one-year contract at the San Siro.

"Wome has been one of our objectives for some months now," said transfer guru Marco Branca.

"He is still a young player but has the right amount of experience, both in Italy and on the international scene, for Roberto Mancini’s squad."

The 26-year-old has spent the last six-months in Serie A after he left Espanyol for Brescia in January.

Wome, who has arrived on a free transfer, has also appeared in Italy for Bologna, Roma and Vicenza.

Juventus Sell Head Office

The profit will be used for the transfer market.
Juventus sold its head office in ‘Corso Galileo Ferraris’ to a local real estate for the sum of 15 million Euros.

The club will still continue to operate from the same building as lessee, whilst the money received will be injected in the market for possible future transfers.

Former Fiorentina midfielder Christian Obodo has hooked up with Coach Serse Cosmi again by joining Udinese.

The Nigerian spent last season on loan at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, but returned to Perugia after the Serie B club won a blind auction for the rest of his contract.

Obodo was specifically requested by tactician Cosmi, who had already worked with the 21-year-old during their spell at Perugia two seasons ago.

The player has penned a five-year contract with Udinese and hopes to improve on last term with two goals in 33 appearances.

Roma embargo blocks Nonda?
Saturday 2 July, 2005
The transfer embargo on Roma could include the already completed moves for Rodrigo Taddei, Sami Kuffour and Shabani Nonda, while Antonio Cassano is also affected.

The Giallorossi have been banned from signing any players from overseas or within Italy for the next year as a result of their conduct in the capture of Philippe Mexes from Auxerre last season.

The suspension was imposed yesterday, but could yet affect moves that have already been completed, as the new season did not begin until July 1. With this in mind, it is possible that Taddei, Kuffour and Nonda’s contracts were set to begin at the start of this month and therefore fall into the embargo time slot.

Roma are attempting to buy themselves some time to register these players by lodging an appeal to the TAS – Tribunal for Arbitration in Sport – to postpone the ban.

This suspension also has a knock-on effect for players that the club wishes to sell, such as Antonio Cassano and Amantino Mancini.

Juventus were lining up a move for the Italian international and his Brazilian teammate by offering money plus Fabrizio Miccoli and Enzo Maresca, but FIFA’s ruling means that any sales must be in exchange for cash only.

Real Madrid have been alerted to the situation and, seeing their difficulties in capturing Robinho, could turn their attention back towards Cassano with a £17m price-tag.

Genoa land Abbiati loan Monday 4 July, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Christian Abbiati will be standing in between the Genoa sticks next season after he left Milan on Monday.

The goalkeeper has joined the newly promoted outfit on a one-year loan deal, with an option to buy next summer for £2.2m.

Abbiati was desperate for a move after spending a large proportion of the last three seasons as reserve behind Nelson Dida at the San Siro.

The Italian international wants regular first team football in an effort to make the Azzurri squad for the 2006 World Cup Finals.

Abbiati was also linked with moves to Palermo, Arsenal and Fiorentina but has opted for the port club.

Meanwhile, Jon Dahl Tomasson says he wants to stay with Milan despite their interest in signing Christian Vieri and Alberto Gilardino.

The Dane is a target for Lyon, Liverpool and Everton but maintains that he still wants to be wearing the Rossoneri shirt next term.

"I want to stay at Milan," he told the Gazzetta dello Sport. "The offers? None of those teams has the same value as Milan.

"They all play in the Champions’ League and are therefore clubs at a good level, but Milan are on another stage.

"It's difficult trying to predict the future but I won’t accept any more offers that may come in," he concluded.

Palermo set Toni price Tuesday 5 July, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Palermo have confirmed they are ready to sell star striker Luca Toni if an offer of at least £11m is made.

The Italian international has been linked with a summer exit but President Maurizio Zamparini insists he won’t let him go on the cheap.

"Luca Toni will not be leaving here for less than £11m," the Sicilian chief told the stadionews.it website.

Fiorentina are very interested in the forward but have reportedly only bid £11m for Toni and teammate Cristian Zaccardo.

However, Zamparini is unimpressed by the way Viola sporting director Pantaleo Corvino is conducting himself.

"He’s always tried to be crafty," added Zamparini. "He targets 20 players and causes great chaos. I think he’s simply creating smoke for no reason."

Toni has netted 50 League goals in two seasons at the Renzo Barbera but talks over a new contract have seemed to spoil their relationship.

The former Brescia man said last week that things would not be the same at Palermo anymore, a statement which has angered his employer.

"He is still too much of a kid to take part in important discussions, he should leave them up to me," concluded Zamparini.

Meanwhile, Palermo are reportedly close to signing Galatasaray goalkeeper Faryd Ali Mondragon.

The Colombian shot-stopper, 34, still has one-year left on his contract with the Turkish giants.

YES, PEOPLE.. It happens even during the OFF-SEASON!

Behold the stupidity that is Il Capitono of Roma:

Totti loses £2m in agent dispute
Wednesday 6 July, 2005
Francesco Totti has been ordered to pay his former agent over £2m in damages after their acrimonious split.

The Italian international broke off his working relationship with Franco Zavaglia in 2001, claiming he was unhappy with the terms brokered for his contract renewal with Roma.

The matter went through the sports justice system and today the Lega Calcio’s arbitration ruled in favour of Zavaglia, ordering Totti to pay £2.14m.

This figure was reached as it represents 5 per cent of the contract Totti penned with Roma in May 2001 under Zavaglia’s guidance.

The two men had been working together for over 10 years before the bitter separation.

Meanwhile, in transfer news, Siena captain Stefano Argilli has signed a two-year contract with Modena, ending a nine-year spell at the club after the Tuscans refused to renew his deal.

“It would be easy for me to act resentful towards those who didn’t even give me the opportunity to work out a new contract,” said the midfielder in an open letter.

“This message is not for them and instead I wish to thank those who cheered me on – whether it was once, a few times or in the 230 occasions I played for Siena. I have always worn this shirt with dignity and respect.”
