OT but man, germany in the 20s was really wild

Babylon Berlin is a fantastic show for portraying 1920s Germany.

Brave from CNN to report this. How dare they.
While lots of Palestinian kids have definitely died in the bombing campaign by Israel… annd that isn’t okay. Are we actually supposed to believe the Hamas numbers here? Like the Israel “bombed hospital” with over 500 dead that turned out to be a PIJ rocket in the parking lot and then those numbers suddenly dropped to sub-100.

Honestly, I think it's safe to assume that pretty much all Hamas numbers are completely fake. I doubt they even have people or kids in Gaza, it's probably just all old concrete buildings with a bunch of asbestos.

Israel probably hasn’t even dropped a bomb yet. They just pretending to appease their public, but secretly in cahoots with Hamas who they pay to explode rockets and IEDs all over Gaza, killing baby mannequins by the thousands.

Look at this: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...diate-ceasefire-to-end-epic-suffering-in-gaza

"Guterres said the 7 October attacks by Hamas were “appalling” but did not happen in a vacuum. “The Palestinian people have been subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation,” he said. “They have seen their land steadily devoured by settlements and plagued by violence; their economy stifled; their people displaced and their homes demolished. Their hopes for a political solution to their plight have been vanishing.”

Israel’s envoy to the UN, Gilad Erdan, called on Guterres to resign immediately, accusing him of being detached from reality. “His comments … constitute a justification for terrorism and murder. It’s sad that a person with such views is the head of an organisation that arose after the Holocaust.”"

It's insane.

You can't just say 'Holocaust' when people say you are doing something illegal. It's not a trump card.

Guterres is Secretary-General to the UN. Have you heard in what sort of words they usually speak? He's not going to make those statements, unless he is absolutely sure those things are in fact true. And instead of answering them on a fundamental level, Israel just claim it's 'sad' and refer to the Holocaust? That is as much as admitting it's true.

Before all of this I believe most people in the West probably favoured Israel, possibly because they were influenced by media. That support is gone.

I think everyone does this to an extent.

But it's a battle Israel are clearly losing.

Any mention of the Holocaust was an easy win in the past, because the scars were so brutal. But the reality is not too many people that were alive during the Holocaust are alive now. And the generation that heard first hand stories from their parents is dying as well. Mentioning the Holocaust to justify present behaviour, when you're not a direct Holocaust survivor, now seems pretty cheap.

To this you have to add that there are few 'objective' sources to go by. But the UN probably comes close, because they have their own investigators and the UN has 193 members they have to answer to. If you're going to obstruct the UN's work, you look guilty as hell.

Even Putin and his henchmen don't throw as much of a hissy fit as the Israelis.
