Okay, so how are we going to replace it with something that's not dominated by the major economic powers?
If I had the answer to that I would either be:

a) Lying dead in a ditch somewhere
b) Renowned and recipient of several awards

Perhaps the answer is just removing the security council and their veto right, but you're never going to get those countries to agree on that.

If the Israeli government had any sense, they would not retaliate furthermore, stop building settlements and allow Palestine to become a state.

Unfortunately, that's not the case. Hopefully Netanyahu will lose the elections in January and a sensible government will be elected.
No, a sensible Israeli right wing government are doing the sensible thing right now, ensuring re-election and achieving national aspirations. They have no need for peace and they have no one to tell them to stop doing it because America is swimming in jewish lobby money.

Probably both. Nobel peace prize, the first posthumous one, for outstanding contributions to peace. I would call Oslo and tell them what a swell guy you used to be.

Perhaps the answer is just removing the security counsil and their veto right, but you're never going to get those countries to agree on that.
I still don't see how removing the UN improves anything.

Would you really do that for me? :D

I mean keep the UN (but don't make one country the largest contributor of funds to it, it should be spred out evenly) but remove the security council. Let USA and Russia plead their case like any other country in the world - not have everyone plead their case to them.

But you just said noone would accept that.
Which is exactly why I deal with history. You asked me what my solution would be, I couldn't come up with one so I suggested removing whats wrong with it. Since the very countries which are ruining the whole thing pretty much tailor made the system to suit themselves that's hardly a possibility.

Okay, so why it removing it better? The same countries would still make the same deals, right?
What are you employed by the U.N. ? :p

No, if the security council was removed and veto right revoked - the resolution to condemn Israeli settlements in the strip would have been passed - for instance.

So guys what would be your solution to this problem, I'm interested in what every one is saying.
The solution is to move the Palestinians to Madagascar and the Israelis to Sri Lanka. And as for Jerusalem and Gaza and all that, just flood the stupid place, make it disappear. Noone gets the toy.
