A Norweigian doctor from "Medecins sans Frontiers" organization said on TV that he'd treated wounded people in Iraq, Afghanistan, South Lebanon, Africa...but what he saw in Gaza was the most shocking injuries and disfigurements he'd ever seen in his life.

First, look back who raised the UN thing. It is not me for sure, as I always saw it as a toy used by Western countries to affect other countries and control them. I never rated it as something that could be useful for the humanity but rather a tool for imperialism and colonialism. So, I didn't expect anything good out of that stupid organization.

For the second part of your post, I loved how you are trying to scare Andy just because he has some opposing opinion to yours. Are you afraid that much to be rated Anti-semitic person just because you condemn what Israel does in Palestine? Is that healthy thing to keep silent regarding the tragedies over there just because you don't want others to think of you as somebody who doesn't like what the Israelis do?

I would say Al Jazeera English is more objective that CNN, for instance. Without a doubt. They actually can cover what happens in Gaza, unlike our media sources.

Have you seen much Al Jazeera English? I would recommend it during this massacre.

I've read it since before the massacre. And they cover more of Gaza because from their perspective, it's the most important thing going on right now. CNN, for instance, is an American media source which has a lot more to cover right now other than the Gaza conflict, with all that is going on domestically. It's a sad truth, but it doesn't mean Al Jazeera is any more objective than anyone else.

I don't mind listening, even though I disagree with their point of view. The problem I have is with people who write off every piece of western media only to use the first piece of "evidence" they can find to prove their point. Even though the "evidence" is just a biased as the evil Western media. Just because something is documented doesn't make it less biased or any less propogandic than anything else.

Honestly, Andries, I have no idea what sort of twisted argument you're using, but if the IDF commits war crimes, then they commit war crimes. This is the whole purpose of the thread. If other nations commit war crimes it's really not on topic.

Our leaders should be tried for war crimes, but I don't go on about that in here.

Prove that this situation is about the land then.

Israel has enough land, so why would they block goods into the Gaza Strip when it's such a small square mileage? And don't tell me that Hamas broke the cease fire.

The death tolls of women and children allude to a silent genocide. If it doesn't, then justify the death tolls, and do not use the Israeli propaganda as a source as it was confirmed that many of the buildings bombed contained no Hamas members whatsoever, according to your UN.

I think it's pretty obvious that Israel has wanted Gaza for a long time. To answer your question, Israel have used basic siege tactics during their invasion. They attempted to weaken the "enemy" through cutting off of supplies to food, weapons, medicine, etc. Then they bombed "enemy" strong points for a sustained period of time before sending in the actual invasion force. From that standpoint, it is easier to assume the action was intended to take Gaza out of Palestinian hands than it is to prove a genocide. With genocide you really have to prove intent to wipe out the group. As history shows us, fighting in such close urban settings with high civilian population, especially with the amount bombing and the destructiveness of the weaponry used, will have very high civilian casualties. At the same time that doesn't make the situation any less unfortunate and terrible.

Granted this action shows that Israel spent a decent chunk of time planning this thing out. I'm sure a lot of the people involved with this action will eventually wind up in the box of the accused at a war crimes tribunal, but it could be decades before that happens. Which is sad to say.

On another note, probably somewhat off topic, but equally disturbing. It's really difficult to prove genocide until it has already occurred. When you think of all the recent cases: Rawanda, Darfur, the Balkan tragedy, no one really knew what was going on until the smoke ended. And in Darfur no one still wants to do much about it.

I feel his pain though. It's hard to act normally and not to lose your mind. It's easier for outsiders like you and me, but not for the Palestinians or the other Arabs.

Consistency is key of course, but you're confusing things a bit here, media is to be impartial in its reporting(western media fails miserably here) as opposed to a member of an internet forum. The real alarming fact is this lack of partiality is not due to incompetence but rather a well threaded agenda.
As for your last point, bias in itself is not negative; if anything one should always be biased to whats true and morally good.
