Conclusion: Roberto Baggio never was a great player since he missed against Brazil.

OK, let me rephrase that: great penalty takers are expected to score when it matters. Del Piero and baggio were both great players, but not great penalty takers. Good maybe, but not ggreat.
i can't totally agree with that, in 86' WC quarter final, France vs Brazil, both zico and platini missed penalty in that game. but they were well known great player and penalty takers, especially for the latter.:cheesy:

Del Piero welcomes back form!

Alessandro Del Piero is relieved that his return to full fitness brought a brace of goals in a 3-0 win against Siena.

The former golden boy of Italian football has found his reputation tarnished over recent years, but is still capable of being the match-winner, as he proved against Siena.

Del Piero scored twice and set up a third for Mauro Camoranesi in Juve's win at the weekend, but insists he is still not fully fit.

"I think I have made steps forward but I have not yet completed my recovery," said Del Piero of the Achilles injury that has kept him out.

"There is always luck involved in scoring but I am feeling good.

"I have a little pain and it is not easy being at the top of your game when you don't feel 100 percent."

Coach Fabio Capello believes that Del Piero can recapture the glorious form of old, but must be given time.

"I have talked with Del Piero and told him he had to find himself," said Capello.

"It is the time for him to do this.

"I think the two goals were important to him and for Juve too.

"He did things in the match that he has not managed to do for a long time."

This is, as always, becoming the same thread again: Delpiero is trash, Delpiero is god".I dont know why, but is always the same...

What is more relavant that your opinion, is the fact that Juve bosses (Moggi, Capello, Giraudo, Grande stevens, etc.) still consider Delpiero a very important factor in the team... Zlatan or Don Bes opinion are respectable but highly biased( as we know)and do not agree with the view in the top of Juventus society, who are still giving alex a vote of confidence....

Our Captain is far from his "Best", which I think he can never achieve again.
Thats pretty much the final word as far as I'm concerned. He can contricute every now and again but against half decent teams he looks very average

Now this has gona too much.

Couple of people over here hates Dp , no one minds that. but to say Dp could never be the same as he was , this is Bs.

IF capello stated he could be like his old days were , why should WE bother and listen to some opinions WHICH KEEP on talking about DP and stating that he's Trash not world class penalty taker , never gonna be the same , he was lucky to score these 2 goals ETC ... Thats TOO much i guess.

OK, he's had 5 years to get back top what he was. If he hasnt done it by now, what makes you think he can do it in the future?

It's been 6 years he got injured against udinese, took him 7 months to recover, so that means he's had 5 years to get where he was. So yes, I can say it's 5 years.
