Goal Keepers don't reach their peak until their thirties. And someone like Trez can play the Inzaghi role and be the poacher in the last few minutes of the game when things are tight. That's when experience counts.

Having said that though I think everyone but the board can see that rejuvenation was required after calciopoli and it just never happened. I think we've had a bad squad since 07/08, we had a respectable (sort of) season after promotion because other clubs still feared us for being Juventus. that soon wore off and teams started getting the better of us. We're just seeing now results we should have been getting a long time ago. The laziness of this board is criminal! Taking short cuts to plug holes with whatever was available for cheap at the time (not talking about Canna) was never going to work.

Juventus is more than just a team, we were one of the biggest clubs in the world, players would find extra and become better once they signed for us. Problem is now Juventus can't inspire payers to bring the best out of them selves. They can only do that with youth who are still in awe of the club. The big players will only see Juve as a step down now :frown:

1st point in regards to Buffon. All the more reason to sell him now, while he still has several good years left in him. His value isn't going to be any higher if they wait another year or two.

In regards to your other points as far as filling in the holes, I don't think that Juve had much of a choice but to overpay for players that most teams would have paid 2/3rds of the price for, because of the expectations with this team from its fans, and their own vision of what Juve should be.

That was a dangerous game to play, and the results clearly show, with a few exceptions, that they lost.

Which is all the more reason to blow it all up and start all over again. I'm totally cool with that, not that my opinion matters to anyone in Turin.

Your last point is the most important one. We are fans so we care a lot and give our opinions as if they are gospel. No different to any sporting club in the world. The job of the board is to make the correct decisions at the correct time regardless of fan and media expectation. Our board is like Ranieri, he was too scared to loose so he did nothing (taking the easy option) and our board is too scared to look bad so make poor decisions. They're just weak!

That's not the best example because Ronaldo was basically a one-man team when here was there, but I see your point to an extent. We are very dependent on Del Piero but every club is dependent upon their best players.

who wouldnt? but i really dont have a gripe notice how i said you can argue for and against, it's a learning process and for me we should turn that page a learn from it, and that dependency is one item to be learnt.
