That's what I mean, I am enjoying the moment, I loved his goals, his celebration, seeing him on the pitch. I just can't honestly say he's ' his old self '. I'm used to a far better Del Piero, so that's what I'm saying, and so are most of the rest. ( Apart from the few just fishing for a reaction. )

I might have exaggerated about our best performance of the season, but it is definitely our best performance since the 5-1.

And yes, I believe that a major part of Melo playing well was due to Del Piero starting the game and having our captain back. The whole team played well and were pressure free.. This is what Del Piero has been doing for such a long time. The players trust him.

Del Piero had nothing to do with Melo having a good game. Melo kept his passing simple instead of trying to find Del Piero wherever he was on the pitch, and intercepted many passes and crosses from the wing.

Give the credit to Melo, not Del Piero, for Melo's own performance, clowns.

Many people can be biased and I don't blame them if that's the case. I think he did good tonight. Many fouls on him and he still scored two goals to secure us a victory. We're not here to compare our players' performances.

Important thing is that we won, Del Piero is back on track and so are our Brazilians.

I'm not the one you should be telling that though, I loved seeing him on the pitch and I jumped for both goals. It's just so that because he's just coming back from injury or for whatever reason, he's not ' his old self ' right now. Still good enough to score 2, but simply not his best self.

He's big enough Nick. I also don't think he had anything to do with the other players playing better than always. He was present against Bayern too yet Melo and Diego were horrendous. Thing is that we really suffered from his absence the whole season. He used to be always someone to save our asses when we had troubles. This is what we've been lacking this season (it's sad though and we must find his replacement as soon as possible for the next seasons).

Ale's form is far from what it used to be in the past few seasons but he needs to play more to regain his form especially now that we don't really have more on-form players than him upfront (excluding Trez). You also can't deny the fact that him being on the pitch (as someone who's more experienced than the rest of players) can bring confidence and relief to the team. I'm happy about his tonight's performance. It sure wasn't a MOM performance but it can be just a starting point for him regaining his form and playing better little by little.
