+1, people getting carried away. Yes he had some nice touches. Went down way to easy at times and should pass in certain situations. Overall nice to see him get 2 goals. I do want him to start next game though.
Are you for real? Seriously are you?

He went down way to easy? Didn't you see how he was stepped on his head? Pushed 2meters at times, tackled from behind?

Do some of you enjoy finding anything just to underestimate his performance?

 So now the only reason Melo played well was because of Del Piero?

It was NOT our best match whatsoever. Our best matches were either the 5-1 Samp game or the Roma match.
I might have exaggerated about our best performance of the season, but it is definitely our best performance since the 5-1.

And yes, I believe that a major part of Melo playing well was due to Del Piero starting the game and having our captain back. The whole team played well and were pressure free.. This is what Del Piero has been doing for such a long time. The players trust him.

Del Piero was average? Expected replies anyway.

The way he was fouled today, the only way Napoli could stop him at times was by taking him down says everything. But who cares he got a standing ovation and to me he was himself.

Forza Del Piero, keep hitting the critics.
You know Rab, we are an extremely lucky team to have Ale in our team. He can play below average the whole match yet he manages to score two goals in the same game :delpiero:

Honestly. they say "a tap-in and a penalty", but I haven't seen anyone to position himself to even have a shot at a tap-in in a long long time, or make a decent thru pass. I'm happy.

I hate it how people act like we don't love Del Piero to death unless we call everything he does great, just because he just got back from an injury.

He's a beast of a player but didn't perform like one today, I'm sorry. We all know he's been injured and he's not the youngest player in the world, but that's no reason to say he's his old self. He simply isn't right now.

I fucking love Del Piero, I really do, I wish he would score 3 a game and play every game as if he were turning back the clock, but he isn't right now.

You can love the guy, but objectivity isn't a bad thing either. I'm very happy for him and his goals though.

How does one discuss with you? it's not just my views. Stop the overrating of his performance. Calling him MOM  that is just retarded.

Not too many know what you mean there;), but you're spot on.

Today we did not say the best performance from Del Piero. Not even close. BUT what today we have seen is his effect on the squad. And for that reason he should start every match when he's fit. He is the only player capable of carrying us out of the shit-hole we are in. And he has proven this tonight.

Ok guys no need for silly fights now. :lazy:

His role was important tonight, he helped a lot. Diego and Melo were better IMO but who cares. The guy scored 2 important goals and we finally did well.

It must be frustrating no? I mean Del Piero not being in-form and not at his best but still scoring two goals?

I mean seriously, what an off-form player can be stopped by only making fouls on him. This football game is sad.

DEL PIERO HATER!

Guys, chill out, we're just celebrating a qualification and captain's first goals since May. He's still rusty, but also still our best attacker. Just enjoy the moment.

Diego was class against Roma and Sampdoria and Atalanta. Del Piero did not play any of those games. Melo was indeed the same Del Piero did not play those games either. This Del Piero effect people are going on about is non existent and utterly retarded excuse to big him up.

Funny you should mention that, considering your past spats.

Remember David Trezeguet? You know, that guy you said wouldn't score three goals this season?
