This injury of his might prove to be useful in the long run. 2 seasons ago he started bad and then he was benched. It resulted with an explosion in the second part of the season. Last year he had a shorter vacation due to the Euros and he was overplayed due to Trezeguet's and later Amauri's injury. In the later part of the season it was obvious that he's tired.
Now he had a completely free summer and he's starting the season much later than the rest. It will probably take him some time to get into shape and start performing, but he'll be well rested and he'll hit form right at the time when the other teams' fitness will become worse.
Not to mention the motivation he'll have in order to win a world cup spot.

Another injury aside, I can easily see Del Piero shining in the second part of the season. Hopefully we'll make it through the CL group. If we do, then we'll have a deadly weapon in February when the knock-outs start.

Are you seriously having doubts about that, Al? It's a little shocking to be honest.

Everything can happen. It will be absolutely no surprise if we share the points with Bayern (one win each or two draws). The match against Bordeaux in France will be decisive. What if we get an early red or something?

No way dude. We gonna get at least 4 points from Bayern, 6 from Maccabi. I'm sure of it. Anything can happen, but so very unlikely.

That draw against Bordeaux was a total fluke.

What if Juve don't improve and they do.

Seriously, Juve need a result against Bayern. Bayern are no push-overs.

I'm confident as well, but it's not such a sure bet. Bordeaux can get all three points at home against Maccabi and i'm sure they can steal points from Bayern in a two-way tie as well. We really need points from the Bayern game as well as Bayern and Bordeaux sharing points.

i thought he was back for bologna, i miss him on the bench and that armband on him, seeing that majestic black and white number 10 out there and that tongue out celebration after his free kick flies top right hand corner

i miss my capitano

Something very strange here. He doesn't play and noone knows why. Noone's saying anything. Trez said in the post match interview last night that DP is back. What does that mean? He's back as of right now? Or he's back at some undetermined moment?
