In an Interview with Alessandro Del Piero before the Lazio vs Juventus match, "Corriere dello Sport" had an Interview with Juventus Captain.

Q: Three games in a row where Alex Del Piero started on the bench, but you reacted with that in a simple way smiling to the press and journalists. Why is that?

Alex: I try to find some answers for that, and at the same time I try to control the situation since I'm not a fan of solving things in a fast way.

Q: But why the smile?

Alex: Smiling is always good, but that doesn't mean that I'm satisfied to be sitting on the bench, I always want to give my best to Juventus. I'm the Captain of this team, I've been here since 15years now and I have to be an example for others. Giving good image about Juventus Captain is very important. I know how to deal and how to fight back when I'm sitting on the bench sometimes.

Q: Do you find any difference or feel anything between Ranieri and Capello?

Alex: Ranieri and Capello are both different types of coaches. Each one of them has his own way dealing with the players. They're not similar at all.

Q: You spent 15years with Juventus and you have over 15million fans worldwide, all of them always wanting to see you playing. What do you have to tell them?

Alex: I tell them Del Piero is still alive. And they'll always see me like they have been seein me before. It's normal for each player to pass in a such a situation... Juventus fans do know me and they know that I never give up and I wont give up:touched:. Each time I step into the field I give my everything, even my soul:touched:

Q: Lot of people now think that the birth of Tobias has changed your life and turned you alot calmer.

Alex: I'm always calm, I'm living the best days of my life since Tobias was borned.

Q: Is there anything in your career you would like to erase?

Alex: Yes, my goal against Udinese 2004/2005, that was a clear off-side and I wished I didn't score that goal.

Q: After renewing your contract till 2010, you stated that you could still renew your contract even after 2010, and that you can still give alot. Would you share with us concerning this topic?

Alex: There are two ways to explain this. First, my physical condition is really helping me, and It helped me even more after playing in Serie B. The second is that inside me I feel that I can still give alot and I'm confident of that, I just hope I'll stay out of injuries. These two things I mentioned are very important aspects to me.

Q: You had lot of difficulties renewing your contract?

Alex: It wasn't easy at all to renew my last contract. Probably the Juventus mang had different ideas which made things alot complicated. My problem was never about the figure to make this clear.

Q: Alessandro Del Piero, you were the first one and only one to commit to the old lady giving no conditions but commiting when It wasn't clear If you'll play in Serie B or C. Do you believe they insulted you when you faced all these problems renweing the contract?

Alex: Insulting is a big word. I wouldn't say that. But to be honest I expected a better treatment. Anyhow, I really wish we close this subject(smiling).

Q: 15years with Juventus, you ever thought of leaving?

Alex: I was close to leave Juventus many times, not because I wanted that, but some situations wasn't really suiting me. 1994 I was about to be sold to Parma, Lippi insisted on me. 1998 during my injury time, I also thought of quitting football and at some place during Capello time I was thinking of leaving but not because I was a bench player more about the treatment.

Q: You thinking of Scudetto Ale?

Alex: Playing for Juventus means you have to think of everything.

Q: Whom do you advice the mang to buy?

Alex: This question I can't really answer, I can't really give advices but the coach Ranieri. Personally, I'm very satisfied with my team-mates.

Q: Roma, Inter and Milan all playing in Champions League, is that a good thing for Juventus?

Alex: Probably...or lets say very little. You can play in Champions League and dominate the league, thats what big teams can do. Anyhow, I think Inter can compete on all three competitions.

Q: Is Giovinco capable of being the next Alessandro Del Piero?

Alex: I hope so. He's got amazing talent and I wish him all the best.

Q: If you had the chance to return the two Scudetti to Juventus, would you do that?

Alex: Of course!!! As a player I know how I got them and the difficulties we faced to achieve what we have achieved before. These two Scudetti are ours and will always be.

Q: Does John Elkan reminds you of Gianni Agnelli?

Alex: Gianni Agnelli was an amazing person, I met him many times, he was a real gentleman, he had a great charisma, and always making a good jokes. I miss him. As for John, he's more into the modern world, he's very serious, and has lot of potential(Yeah riiiight:D). But I think comparing them together doesn't work.

Q: Your plans for the National Team?

Alex: I'll keep working hard to get back to the Azzurri team.

Q: Totti and Nesta left the Azzurri. What do you have to say for them?

Alex: I think the team will really miss them, they're both great players. But I respect their decisions. As for me, I'll always be there for the Azzurri ready to wear the jersey.

Q: Do you think Tobias can become a great football player like his father?

Alex: [smiling]...for the record I started talking football to him, they say new born can understand what you're trying to tell them.

Udinese Juventus 2004/2005 Del piero clear offside i cant even remember it anyone got a clip?

By the way always a gentleman that Del Piero
I can remmber it very well... it was 0-0 in 1st half and Udinese's keeper was making some great saves... DP came as a substitute (as usual) and he scored (also as usual) from a cross by Zambrotta but he was in a clear offised position.

Near the end there was a PK not given for Udinese for an obvious push from Cannavaro.

it was clear on the tv images, but if you watch the position of the lineman then you see that he isn't well placed. he was still running.

also in the first half udinese had a goal (correctly) disallowed and weren't they playing with 10 men for a mean foul on nedved ?

you're very right about the push of cannavaro. that should have been a penalty. this was one of the two games where we had rather obvious 'referee luck' that season (imo). atm i can't really remember the second

You know, I'd really like it if you were to commit suicide in that short period of time where Del Piero isn't connected to Juve.
