Donadoni shut the fuck up...a retarded coach who has almost jeopardized the Euro'08 chances of the reigning World Champions...he has the finest European talent at his disposal and yet Italy are struggling...this guy should be fired immediately...and as for Ale dictating terms to him? Ale may not be what he once was but if u r going to utilise him then atleast play him in his regular forward position

Why did the federation choose Donadoni again?
When someone wins something as big as the World Cup, not many top coaches are prepared to become his successors because they know they can only do worse, not better and they know that nation's expectations are still very high.
I guess that was the case with post-Lippi Italy. The best ones, the proven ones and the most experienced ones knew all this and they weren't prepared to gamble with their renomé .
Only a young coach who is yet to make a name for himself is prepared to take over such a job.
IMO, if it wasn't Donadoni it would have been someone as inexperienced as he is.
We can only hope Italy can make it to EURO 2008. After the Euro i expect Donadoni to be fired and someone from the elite to take over the Italian national team.

Ranieri Admits Del Piero Divide
Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri has confirmed reports that there is still a considerable distance between both sides in the Del Piero contract talks, but suggested that there is a straightforward solution to the problem.

"The leadership will have to put money on the table," said Ranieri. "I understand that there is still quite a difference between what each side wants."

The 32 year old's current deal expires in June 2008, but the club is interested in keeping him on until 2010, when the player may retire.

While 'Alex' is happy with the length of contract on offer, he is set to be deeply upset at a potential 30% pay cut heading into his twilight years as a player.

There has been speculation that the difficulties in reaching a deal have resulted in Del Piero’s form of late. The Bianconeri captain has scored just one goal this season and was heavily criticised throughout the peninsula for a shocking performance for Italy against France in a Euro 2008 qualifier a few weeks back.

I've come up with the solution for DP to get his money-

score a goal on sunday, and pull the Trez "hand gesture" towards where Gigli and company sit, and he will be rewarded the same way !!:)

Del Piero, "The Deal? Doesn't depend on me..."

Before the derby there was not only the matter of "Rosinaldo" renewal, but also that one of Alex Del Piero to which, before the meeting with "granata", has been asked to him explications over his deal:"Doesn't depend on me. I don't know. At the moment the only certainty is the born of my soon". Team and player would seem still so far.

i thought Ale had a great game in the Derby as he was our most dangerous player and sparked several attacks with his sublime passes. I hope Donadoni takes note as he was in the stands.

You always say this. In reality, Trezeguet was better and deserved a goal more.

lil zlatty get the fuck out of this thread.
Classic.

You know, it's very hard to have a healthy discussion with you about Del Piero because you're rarely objective and you don't see the things as they are.

Why are you continiously repeating that he took 2 pay-cuts ? He was getting crazy money, much more than the best players in the world Kaka and Totti were getting and he was playing in serie B. It would have been mean if he didn't accept those pay-cuts.
And how much is he getting now ? Still more than everyone in Milan apart from Kaka ( the european champions, may i add) and still more than every player in Italy, with the exception of 5 players. If it's needed he'll take 10 more pay-cuts until he gets what he deserves.
Milan is a super rich team that got huge profit in the previous year and it's players aren't moaning because of their wages which are much lower than Ale's. Pirlo, Seedorf, Gattuso, Nesta - all of them get 1m eur less than Ale.
Juve is a team that lost +200m eur in the last year and we'll lose even more this year due not playing CL. If our board offers him a pay-cut there is a reason for that. It was different with Trez and Camo. Back then the board offered them funny wages. Now the board is offering Del Piero a very reasonable ( imo, still more than he should be getting) salary.

For me it's not about the chances he missed. He missed few chances and a penalty, so what ? And it's not about his current bad form. It's about his performances in the future.I believe that he will only get worse, not better. He is still a class and he'll still be useful. But we have players who are more useful and influental on the pitch than Del Piero and all of them are getting lower wages than Ale.
Yeah, you can say the board is to be blamed because they should pay more to Camo, Trez, Chiellini.
But how can we offer them more when we don't have the money and we need smart money managment to become the force we were ?
And Del Piero wants to keep his ~4.8m eur per year ( 7.2m eur with the taxes included). You're telling me it's not selfish ? You're telling me he deserves to get the same money or close to the money trophy winners and one-man-team players like Kaka, Totti and Ibra are getting ?
If we had the money, ok, pay him the 4.8m if he wants them so much. But we're not financially strong as we were and Del Piero is not irreplaceable as he was, so he should accept the 3.4m eur the managment is offering.
Class post to shut his biased mouth.

dude do you remember when camo talks where about reducing his wages ?do you remember what he reply? he denied the first contract given to him .why should dp not take the money kaka or totti takes tell me that.. what have they achieved last year?or two years before ..come on ... dp was frustrated when we denoted to serieb b i wonder if someone of these players you mentioned me would have done the same thing .. i dont think so ... if it wasnt dp we would not BE IN SERIE A RIGHT NOW ..so do you agree with that?mustnt we pay the man who lift us in serie a?juve must find money from other factors like increasing our home attendance and going to cl this year... not from dps contract .. this is rediculous
 You must be joking or you are blind and not informed. What have achieved Kaka and Totti?

Well, Kaka almost single-handely lifted the Champions League trophy and Totti was rewarded with a Golden Foot for being the player with most goals in top 5 European leagues, something what Del Piero will never achieve again. And he never did. I agree he had a perfect season in Serie B but players such as Buffon, Camoranesi and Nedved are as much as responsible as Del Piero for getting Juve back to Serie A. Nedved even more. So, he should stop thinking about himself and accept a paycut as this is in interest of a club. It´s not that drastic reduce of his wage.

Are you Milan supporter? Why do you keep mentioning Milan players? We're talking about Juventus, I don't really give a damn about Kaka nor any other player. If he earns more than Milan players, so what? I still fail to see your point.
Oh shut up please with these lame comments. You would be the one supporting Milan if Del Piero was playing there.

And stop with this more than he should be getting, it's not like you're paying his salary. Don't try to do a Don Bes here. You're not paying that from your pocket, and Juve isn't going bankrupt because of that.

Alessandro Del Piero should be treated same way Buffon, Trezeguet and Mauro and Pavel were treated, Cobolli changed his mind later on when he saw Davids reaction, Mauro's statements including Pavel's one. And for someone such as Del Piero, he should be giving some RESPECT and should be treated same way.

You and I both knows that If things didn't go well and Ale didn't renew, everything will be fucked you know that right? You know who'll follow Ale right?

It's not what I want to see, but it's a FACT."

Till they achieve what Ale has achieved, till they put their blood to the team like Ale did, till they become legends, etc, then they have the rights to ask for a higher wages.
Please! What do you care what Alex´s wage is? Isn´t it more important to you that he plays regularly than his wage? If he is such a legend and he loves the club and gives everything to Juve then he´ll accept a paycut and be happy to still play for the club, right? Like he did before. And how do you know that players stayed at club because of Alex? Show me where did someone ever say this? It´s just a part of your imaginary world. They stayed at the club because they love the club, not Del Piero. They believe in Juventus project and they believe the glory days will come back. Hopefully with some younger, faster and stronger players.
