Alessandro Del Piero will not stay on with Juventus, claims Luciano Moggi
The former Italy international was told the doors are always open for him in Turin, but the ex-Bianconeri transfer chief feels there is no chance of a U-Turn
Former Juventus director Luciano Moggi seriously doubts Alessandro Del Piero will stay at the club once his contract expires in June 2012.
Del Piero has been told this will be his final year in Turin by club president Andrea Agnelli - a signal there will not be any extension.
However, on Monday Agnelli said the "doors were always open" for the captain. The president's message came just hours after Del Piero told Spanish paper El Pais he wanted to "play until 40".
However, Moggi feels Del Piero will move on, regardless of Agnelli's offer of staying close to the club.
"At the moment I do not think there is a chance for Del Piero to renew his deal with Juventus. I also believe the club have made a mistake with him," Moggi told Radio Mana Mana Sport.
"Del Piero is and will always be important for Juventus. You cannot question the player's class.
"I cannot see any reasons as to why Juventus are not using him regularly.
"And, seeing what Del Piero told El Pais, I think the relationship with Juventus will be concluded at the end of the season."
Juventus resume Serie A matters on Sunday when they Palermo on Sunday afternoon.
