September 27th 2009, Juventus v Bologna 1-1

We are rather disappointed with the result of the last match at home against Bologna, that, as we expected complicated our life.

In the short time that remains from today to the next match on Wednesday in Monaco for Champions League, we have to correct the mistakes that have been done and to concentrate at most, as the match against Bayern is extremely important.

Sunday, the 27th of September I started my Season and I was awarded with the prize for Fair Play season 2008-2009, having played 400 matches, wearing Juventus shirt, another reason for me to be proud and satisfied!

See you soon, Alessandro

That or Diego and Giovinco both playing, thou I doubt it will happen..
Diego and Gio is never going to happen, unless we have atleast 2 strikers injured and swap to playing with 1 striker. DP and Diego is more likely, and I think we might see it, but I don't think it's gonna be from the start. Having said that.. Iaq+DP wouldn't be a bad option, though it'll probably be Trez+Iaq.

Sure it can happen when you play Gio as an SS ;):D

It's not like Gio will get the nod over one of Del Piero, Trezeguet, Amauri or Iaquinta. Can't be serious surely?

That's why I said it's all about whether we have all our strikers injured. Then he could play next to Diego, or a bit more upfront as SS. Otherwise.. no way.

It seems too extreme but im tempted to put him in front with trezegoal...both of tgem in front of diego.
I think amauri in the bench is a given... and Trez seems to have some confidence back, but above everything he is a big game player.

The spot that is left between IQ and DP is what is keeping me thinking. i mean, IQ has been scoring a lot lately and if by any chance, DP underperforms, Ciro will be eaten alive.

I think we should have something like this,

Iaquinta, Delpiero
Diego
and introducing in second half iaquinta, which will make pressure to they defenders as always with his running to every ball :)

I miss Delpiero though :S

Del Piero: «We should give all»

«We come from two draws, and therefore this will be an important and delicate match. It’s enough to see Juve’s and Bayern’s titles to understand the importance of these two clubs. Tomorrow match will be felt with tension, agonism, concentration, and we’ll have to do all we can to bring home the result. We want to succeed after Sunday draw and there could not be better occasion to find it ». Alessandro Del Piero is strongly motivated. The captain is finally back to tasting the pitch, also if for a few minutes, vs. Bologna and now he wants to be the main character again, even knowing that after a long stop it will be right to take it easy:
«Sensations I had Sunday were clearly limitated and I went out of the pitch like all my mates, with a bitter taste, therefore I really want to recuperate. Concerning tomorrow, the trainer we’ll see how and when ask me to play. Naturally this is a particular moment, considering that I come back after a long time. Which role do I see for myself in Juve? The same as one month ago, that is being the captain and one of the players who has to give all he can to achieve victory».

Alex has already been the main character of important challenges vs. Bayern in 2004/05 and in 2005/06 and he sees no difference with the past: «Bayern kept strength as a club and as a reference point in German Championship. They won a lot at European level and they are used to get to the end. They have always built teams with great players, keeping the team consistency that characterizes German soccer. I see many similarities between old Bayern and nowadays’ one».

Germany evokes memories in the captain: «It represents a very beautiful experience to me, because even though I lost a Champions League final vs. a German team, here I won a World Cup».

Monaco in these days, considering the concomitance with Oktoberfest is full of Italian, ready to support Juventus: «I believe they came here for a different reason – Alex smiles – but maybe also to see Juve win. We’d be glad to please them: in Germany, Italian community is big and supporter’s affection abroad towards our teams is very strong, therefore we have a further reason to do better».

Honestly, him and Buffon are the only footballers I know who don't speak in boring, sporting clichés.

football italia's summary:

Alessandro Del Piero is ready to lend his support as Juventus captain even though he is unlikely to play in tonight's match against Bayern Munich.

The 34-year-old talisman has struggled for fitness over the last month and finds himself on the bench in the Allianz Arena.

“I don't know if I will play, nor do I know for how long. A week ago I was very down. Now I have recovered. I am better. I am ready to give my support as captain,” Del Piero said.

The World Cup winner admitted that watching his team play from the stands hasn't been a pleasant experience at all.

“I went out on the pitch on Sunday with a bitter taste in my mouth. To come back after such a long time isn't pleasant,” he explained.

Del Piero was equally disappointed by Juventus' inability to beat Bologna at the weekend, but returned to the matter at hand; tonight's game against Bayern.

“We have to win and get the points. We won't be lacking motivation in this stadium with a number of great champions in front of us,” he concluded.
