Ive heard of Boston.I always confused them with Chicago though.Yes,ive only heard a handful of Hendrix's material..the best known material ie.Id try getting the Jimi Hendrix experience sometime.

Dave was an outstandingly talented songwriter.Gilmour on the other hand was an instrumentalist par excellence. They made a brilliant combination.A comparison between the live albums released by the Post-Waters Pink Floyd and the live version of The Wall should also be considered here.Gilmour was probably the more naturally gifted of the two,but the arrangments the on live version of The Wall are nothing short of phenomenal.Decliate Sound Of Thunder on the other hand was dissapointing. This could be down to the fact that Water worked his butt off to turn the album into a Live monster, whereas Delicate Sound Of Thunder was a regular live album, but if the two albums were to be compared,The Wall live not only beats Delicate Sound Of Thunder hands down,it counts as one of the greatest live albums ever IMO.I actually thought that the band might get together after the Live Aid reunion, but it wasnt to be.I Dont think they'd ever come back together as a band now.Something like that might be possible for Guns n Roses because they're a younger band, but not Pink Floyd.

I never bothered buying any of The Who's albums.I only have their greatest hits, and its fantastic. The Doors on the other hand, were pure class. When they say that Beatlemania in the UK was matched by The Doors in the US,its surely something.I agree that The Doors were in effect Jim Morrison.I dont think a lot of people other than die hard fans even know the names of the other members.

The Clash just came to my mind.Probably the greatest punk band ever. The Pistols were just antics and bad attitude IMO.Clash on the other hand had substance, and tons of it.
Nah, Chicago is very different, fusion of Jazz and Rock.

The bold part is the problem, Delicate Sound Of Thunder is pretty poor. You need to listen to Pink Floyd's PULSE, better yet if you can get the double DVD. It's hailed as one of the best live performances ever. It's simply amazing, especially if you see the whole concert with the effects and lights. Also, they played the whole Dark Side Of The Moon live on it. It blows away anything Waters ever done solo IMO.

I doubt a reunion is on the cards as well, even for the guns.

You need to get Who's Next(one of the best albums ever), Who Are You and Tommy. Those are the essential Who albums, pure gold.
....and that's exactly why I don't appreciate The Doors too much, it's a paravan for Morrison.

The Clash blows away Sex Pistols like there's no tomorrow. The Pistols only done one proper album anyways whereas The Clash had a wide array of work and their sound actually matured as years went by.
Ace of Base..now you're talking :weee:
Ace Of Base? Ace Of Base? What next, Aqua?

I do have pulse. And i think its awesome, but The Wall live still gets my vote. The sheer magnitude of that performance is mindblowing. The extended versions of Young Lust,Empty Spaces,Another Brick In The Wall etc..simply outstanding.I actually hated the version of Another Brick In The Wall on Pulse.Gilmour's vocals were extremley dry on it.Plus,Pulse as a live show, was great, but i thought it lacked the visual-effects-minus intensity. You take out the visual effects from Pulse, and what you get is pretty boring.Having said that,i thought the slides running in the background of High Hopes and Shine On You Crazy Diamond were superb..especially the swimming pool bit at the end of Shine On You Crazy Diamond.

I never got to see The Wall on DVD,but the intensity that show generates merely on the basis of its audio is out of this world.Compare it this way..if you heard both shows on audio alone..which one would get your blood pumping?Definatley The Wall. The array of musicians in that show..Scoprions,Bryan Adams,Cyndi Lauper..man..that was something.I almost never listen to Pink Floyd in my car because they are really a loud and agressive band..but The Wall is an exception to that.I always carry it with me whenever i drive. You should try it sometime. The intro on Another Brick In The Wall..hit full throttle..the effect is quite stunning:D

You're spot on about The Pistols.Heck,i evne think God Save The Queen and Anarchy In The UK are average songs.

    Fuck you!

    Fuck you too!

Don't talk shit about Ace of Base, I grew up with those songs, I love them.

It's a beautiful life Oh Oh Oh ooooOOOOOOh

Duh..I think I disagree with every word you said there. :D

Pulse for me wins hands down, no questions asked, however you wanna put it. It's probably the best concert experience for me, when all things are considered, effects, stage, performance, etc. Few things come close, Queen at Wembley and Zepp at Royal Albert Hall(such a raw, powerful performance from 1970) first come to mind. But that's a matte of tastes at the end of the day.

As for Pink Floyd in the car...be it with Water, Gilmour, or both of them...that just doesn't work. Pink Floyd is simply not car music for me, when I listen to Floyd I put on my Sennheiser's headphones, lie in my bed, close my eyes and just drift away.
