    gray, to be just, one has to apply his principle universally. can the same thing be said about things that you believe or hold to be true?

    why/why not?

    just the fact that it "seems" unrealistic means nothing. dont miracles "seem" unrealistic too? how about a man rising from the dead? unrealistic, no doubt.

    imho things are not always as they seem, and unrealistic things certainly do happen.

    (in a nutshell- you'll have to explain forgiveness by chanting away by some other method haha)

    ps- im not catholic nor am i in support of this particular aspect of their doctrine.

    I'm not talking about things that are unrealistic in worldly terms, like miracles and men rising from the dead.

    What I'm saying is that since Catholics believe in the saving power of Christ's blood, I don't really understand why they need a channel to God by which they're forgiven. The curtain in the temple was torn, and every believer can enter God's presence. Isn't "reciting 7 Hail Marys" to be forgiven contrary to Ephesians 2:8-9?

    I dont think catholics believe solely in the bible. Thats why they do so much that just isnt in there.

    Many of their customs have been developed over the centuries and by tradition which imho are mistaken as integral parts of the religion. That is what confession is- something that isnt part of the scripture, but something that was developed over time.

    And thats why I think confessions are untrue. But this isnt my final conclusion of course.

    my point was not about whether or not they were right it was that when you have a universal principle it must be used universally.

    I confess to being a Milan and Lazio fan before i was a juve fan!! :eek:
    I sobbed and threw a fit when Milan got kicked out of the CL in 1996 (the group with Porto, Rosenborg, and Goteborg).

    I confess that before 1993, i used to support ManU and the German national Team.

    that's too much....

    but i also have to confess that before i start supporting juve and generally football,
    i didn't even know how many players were on the pitch...
    i wasn't sure if they were 11 players with or without the goalkeeper.....

    i'm kinda the opposite,i was a Juve fan!then the season before the WC,when i didnt have enough coverage for juve anymore,i stopped supporting juve,and started supporting Arsenal:devil:
    i used to support the Azzurri and now i support the Dukes:cool:
    when Juve lost to Real in the Cl final(cant remember which season)i locked myself up in my room for more than 12 hours.

    btw im in trouble with the law and only god himself can come and save me. nothing too serious but it can quickly turn ugly
