Hell many saudis are even racists against other Saudis let alone foreigners. People from the central region hate Hijazis(western region) and easterners. easterners are isolating themselves from everyone else. Hijazis are the least racist but i'd still give them a 5 at least. I can't really talk about the problem with Aboriginals because in Victoria we have hardly any around. They seem to be anywhere that isn't Victoria, Tasmania and Adelaide.
But I can say that there have been plenty of problems between Aboriginals and cops in western Sydney for a long long time, EVERYONE in western Australia is racist, Melbourne is the 2nd most Greek populated city on earth to Athens (apparently) and the whole Indian student bashing problem in Melbourne is completely made up (hang around train stations in the western suburbs late at night and you're asking to be bashed) by the Indian media.

Either way, I think Australia is pretty good especially regarding respect for European and Asian communities.

Well i have been in the country for just over 5 years now and I agree with to some extent but maybe 0.5 here or there. Its evident racism as people have been talking about recently with the indian student bashings but more some form of differentiation. That is simply from the way some people talk where you sense a bit of discomfort especially towards new migrants from Africa and india but overall people are pretty inclusive and welcoming.

You have people walking around the train stations late at night with bling bling and black berrys, what do you expect the outcome is going to be ? There is concern and i don't think the idea should be dismissed entirely but it shouldn't be perceived in that way. Violence is an issue all over Victoria and everyone is affected.

We have a reputation of being an extremely racist country. But TBH, I wouldn't say we're more racist than most other countries. The difference is, here the racists know how to make themselves heard and it reflects poorly on everybody.

Well, the media obviously didn't elaborate on the things you mentioned, I was asking because couple of my friends who were going to Uni in Australia and cancelled so I was wondering if it was that... prominant?
