That movie is tattooed on your brain isn't it. :D
Surprisingly, it's gone missing recently. It's a good movie, but Guy's Little Detroit is better.

Best Lines from Guy's Little Detroit:

(Barack Obama to Guy Smith)

Obama: Will you vote for me?

Guy: Yes.

Obama: NIGGER LOVER. Will you vote for me?

Guy: Yes.

Obama: NIGGER LOVER. Will You vote for me?

Guy: Fine, no I won't.

Obama: Racist...

Andy, i added the next couple lines to Guy's Little Detroit.

:D
Nice.

I brought back the movie description in the movie thread.

I'm thinking of making a sequel to Guy's Little Detroit. Not sure what movie I'll model it after, maybe Taken.

I'd give Australia about a 5.

I'd give western Australia and Queensland about an 8.

I can't really talk about the problem with Aboriginals because in Victoria we have hardly any around. They seem to be anywhere that isn't Victoria, Tasmania and Adelaide.
But I can say that there have been plenty of problems between Aboriginals and cops in western Sydney for a long long time, EVERYONE in western Australia is racist, Melbourne is the 2nd most Greek populated city on earth to Athens (apparently) and the whole Indian student bashing problem in Melbourne is completely made up (hang around train stations in the western suburbs late at night and you're asking to be bashed) by the Indian media.

Either way, I think Australia is pretty good especially regarding respect for European and Asian communities.

I have only felt truly insulted as a Belgian once and it was by an Australian. He kept talking about the battle of Gallipoli and he kept saying WWI was a national Australian tragedy. The poor fuck hadn't heard about flanders fields. He even went as far as saying that Gallipoli was the true disaster of WWI and that people had forgotten all about it.

Malta is relatively intolerant towards immigrants, particularly Arabs and illegal immigrants, but then they make a fuss if one of the illegal immigrants is attacked or something.
Most people here don't like arabs cause they think they are all rapists lol, and yes i know that mentality is quite retarded lol, but the maltese population likes to generalise A LOT

Mike, how do you survive in Malta? It seems to me it would have to be a supremely claustrophobic experience being trapped on a small island like that in the middle of the sea. :D

The importance of Gallipoli to Australians is getting to the point of being commercialized.

Yes, but to say it to a Belgian? I don't know what they teach you over there, but the guy didn't know anything about WWI. You can't compare Gallipoli to what happened in Belgium. It's not even in the same league. I'm not saying Gallipoli wasn't bad, but seriously..

I agree. Australian history is taught at pretty young age in our schools with emphasis on Gallipoli. So, you'll find that Australians don't know much else about WWI unless they read into it further. In Australia, its hard to avoid the importance placed on Gallipoli. Since a movie was made about it, its been the most celebrated tragedy in our history. I'm pretty sure we lost more people in France and Belgium then we did in Gallipoli. I really can't explain why we place so much emphasis on that particular battle, but its the historical reference point for Australias participation in WWI and apparently is the beginning of our division from Great Britain as a dominion. Much like Kakoda in WWII, any other battle in the same war seems too much to remember.

EDIT: Seven, have you realised how we go off topic pretty much every time we start exchanging posts?

Its really not bad, everything is around, and the island is tilted so North and South are completely different, despite the small size.
Even though we are one of the most densely populated countries in the world, you don't really notice it, till when there is teh World Cup or elections, as most people stick to their areas, like all the people not from the East, think we're all snobs etc cause we tend to speak English more than Maltese, while those not from the South think they are all low class, and it goes on like that.
So we tend not to mix...unless we're drunk, sometimes it ends up with being friendly, sometimes not

But how would you generalise? From where do you start? Do you know ONE Arab rapist? Because I don't.
I personally don't, but if someone says: An arab tried to rape me, every looks at the Arabs negatively, or if in the newspaper it says that an arab tried to rape someone they act all defensive towards them. What most Maltese don't do is read into the subject, for example last Summer there was a case, where two swedish girls made moves on two arabs, then they went to a beach to have sex. After doing this they went and reported it to the police as that they were being raped. Even though all charges where dropped and said that the arabs did nothing wrong, people still have negative feelings towards them.
A very normal example of these feelings would be that girls in groups of 3 or less would call there parents to pick them up from somewhere if they are walking, and there happens to be an arab walking in road, whether or not he does something.
I obviously don't agree with this, but its probably due to the fact that i lived in London for 10 years so am used to different nationalities and religions.
People here in Malta are quite ignorant when it comes to these things, but its the parent's fault, cause they hammer in rubbish into the heads of the children when they are young.
A girl i know was quite racist, always saying against blacks and arabs etc, and then one day she was working at a nursery helping out someone, and she saw this small black kid crying, hitting himself against a wall and stuff like that, and she saw that we're all the same no matter the skin, and from that day she stopped all this racist shit. Here, you have to experience something so as to get over it.
Another personal example, is about me and religion, i'm practically the only Maltese person who is 19 and did not have his confirmation. THis is cause in Malta when you turn 13 the church makes you do it, and while i was living in England the church refused to do it, cause they said he should get it when he is old enough to decide if he wants to or not.

Latvia get's something around 5 or 6. We have some pretty big problems with russian's living in our country, as they are as many as latvian's living here (so they are hardly minority), got much to do with the history in the region. I for one can't stand NBA and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga too, but that's just me.

Oh right, the majority of latvians don't like or even hate gays too, that's not exactly racism, but got something to do with it.

We have a reputation of being an extremely racist country. But TBH, I wouldn't say we're more racist than most other countries. The difference is, here the racists know how to make themselves heard and it reflects poorly on everybody.
