However corny this may sound, it's true when they say that the more languages you know the more personalities you have.
I guess it depends on how well you know the languages and if you select a different persona while speaking with them.

But I hope people here are glad that they have had the opportunity to speak other languages and it's come almost naturally to them. That is what sets Europe apart from where I'm from.

And more importantly, what prerequisite do you consider necessary to be able to say you speak a certain language? What exactly do you have to know to be able to say that?
IMO if you can speak it without translating in your head first :D

and WORD on Europe thingy Andy mentioned above.

I said 3 because my English is off the chain, but im good enough to get around in Spanish and German, and can do okay in French....
Nah dogg, I know more Spanish than you do, but I don't consider myself anywhere near sufficient in said language. Take that shit off your list.

I'm only adept at one language as the American culture is inane enough to believe one language is sufficient enough.
I think it really depends where you grow up in the US. My youngest sister is already fluent in French because the New York school system requires four years of another foreign language.

Oh I totally agree. I am so different when I talk in Italian. I don't think I am the same Sarah that everyone is used to.

Then the New York State school system is doing something right. I grew up in Shitsville, USA, and we were never required to learn much about another langauge private or public schools. It's one of my regrets growing up where I did.

But I guess I could have turned out worse, with no care for the rest of the world whatsoever. It's just annoying I can't experiance the same shit those in Europe can.

Well, I've taken more Spanish than you have, and I'm not exactly confident of me getting around that easily in Espana. It's not that easy in Spanish.

Totally agree. I'm extremely different as a person when I speak Swedish, English, and Urdu.

I think you turned out great for someone living in America. Its so easy to get sucked into our culture of ignorance.

Hey, but I'm a son of a goat, I don't speak Farsi. ;)

Thank you, but I don't think it's enough. If I was President, I would make people learn another langauge, as it's disheartening that I can't even communicate with Seven of all people in another langauge.

It's not that easy in "Mexican", either.
