Oh damn. I thought it was pure french. I'm fluent in english and french, but not in german and definetly not in dutch.
Well depending on where you settle it won't be a problem. Brussels is mostly French, and obviously the south is too (ask Erik). I chose Holland myself and I'm happy with that, I think Belgium is a little more...hm... "French" if you will, a little more southern European influence, it's less Scandinavian which I think you could still call Holland. And so Belguim may be what you want, because Holland is quite a lot "like home".

You can live in the French-speaking territories with no problem at all then. I lived in Brussels for 6 months and I live every day of them, but whoever told you the climate is better than that of Sweden? A few degrees warmer counts for nothing, not to mention the grey, wet autumn. I think Belgium has most amongst all other European countries.

So let's go into details now, living in Brussels is cool because of the city itself, where it can be as calm as it can get or as extravagant as it gets; it all depends on the person.

You basically live in the center and you can reach man countries in a matter of 2~3 hours for cheap.

Brussels most famous university is ULB (Universite Libre de Bruxelles), then there is a couple of others as well, one of them is for Flemish speaking students.

I won't mention the chocolate, the beer, the fries and the waffles because they have already been mentioned.

The main reason I want to go to Belgium instead of Holland is actuallythe language. Apart from that I think Holland would be great. Although I sometimes get the impression that dutch people are arrogant. Actually Most dutch football players don't seem very nice. Van der Sar, de Boer, van Nistelrooy etc wouldn't be people I would like to hang out with.

    hehehe

Well maybe you shouldn't assume that because a couple of players have certain personality traits the whole nation has them. I haven't found Dutch people to be particularly arrogant myself, for whatever it's worth.

I live in Belgium, and I love it here. There is a modern way of thinking, great wellfare. (Flanders is the part in the world with the highest wellfare). You can come to my house to stay for a while, if u want, my house is small but my doors are open. (First need to ask my parents :). Maybe Im going to the army, so there will be a bed free ;).

I live in a small town near the great university city, Gent. (Ghent in English), Flanders. Ask anything you want about België. You can give me your msn adress ;).

Now that I think of it I might be completely "out on a bikeride" here. I remember Erik once decribed himself as "a tad arrogant", if he's considered arrogant then true arrogance can't exist in that country.
