Ahhh fuck, evac perimeter is now 10 kilometers around the plant.

If they have 8x the radiation at the gate, just imagine the reading at the site of the leak.

Some expert on CNN said 1,000 times normal isn't crazy bad and he's not alarmed. It's part of the controlled release, apparently. They are venting the reactor to decrease pressure levels, which makes sense because higher pressure means higher temperature (Ideal gas law). He said that if the radiation levels rise another 1000 percent then he'd be alarmed. :wth:

    I don't think they can stop it (around the water?), so I wouldn't be surprised it reaches 1000

    Looks really bad, at least Japan is in better shape than most countries at bouncing back from it. Over 1000 dead, hope it doesn't get any worse.
