Holy shit. I just woke up, does anyone know when this is supposed to hit the West Coast and if the San Francisco area is in any danger?
Already hitting the coast now, at least the first few "waves". At this point it seems to be pretty tame apart from the under currents in some marinas. I'd still heed the warnings and stay away from the beach.

After considering the trillions in losses by insurance companies, banks and institutions, the loss of almost all coastal infrastructure and farmland in Japan and other nearby countries, the possibility of a core meltdown at a nuclear plant, and the almost certain refocusing of Japanese capital inward and away from European and U.S. Ponzi debt schemes, the markets have decided that it's all good.
