He's butt ugly but that's not what I was referring to. Think, Satanic Verses.
Given my propensity for religious teasing as a proxy to erode the dogmatic walls between people's religious beliefs, I should probably stay out of the matter. :mute:

Seriously. It's not like enough people didn't die at their hands to earn independence from them in the first place.

This is far beyond teasing. It seems you've never heard of the Satanic Verses.
I know enough about the background on it and the worldwide political crisis that ensued to know -- and during when it all went down -- to know that the religious sanctification of murder was perhaps the most symbolic way to prove a point. (Even if a lot of the hatred was more directed at stringing up the translators.)

I know that one Muslim calling another Muslim a hypocrite is a sure-fire way to go kaffir in the eyes of Mohamed. But since Mohamed doesn't speak for me, I can call those Muslims hypocrites on behalf of the rest of the world at least.

Free speech, literary liberty with novels -- these are realities that exist and cannot be surrendered because some refuse to interpret life in anyone's shoes but their own.

I am in no way speaking on behalf of the hijackers of Islam who have nothing better to do than to order fatwa's against people on a daily basis.

I certainly don't expect you to look from a Muslim point-of-view, but if you're for world peace and understanding then you ought to see how hurtful the mans work is.

I direct you to read this. (starting from pg. 71)
