You know...you accuse us of blind faith yet if there's anything blind it's the statement you just made above. Is this a work of fiction?

Death sentence aside (because I don't agree with that either), you tell me how this is a work of fiction?
because it is marketed it as such. the same way the davinci code was marketed as such. are those things you quoted truth?

wow, he thought a bit of "controvercy" would be good for his book, like that's a crime

what??? he used the names of people and places that are very important to Islam, and blatantly insulted them, and you're suggesting that was only for publicity purposes?

first i thought i'd make fun of your religion, but i am getting too old for that. a belief is something that one believes to be true even though there is no proof. what is wrong with islam, and most other religions, is that they try and push it on you when in fact it should be completely up the individual to make up his mind. it's like one engineer believing that dry sand is a great material to make a bridge because a vision told it to him in a dream and no not only he makes his bridges out of sand exclusively but he goes out and tries to pass laws that prohibit other materials to be used on bridges and orders people killed because they make fun of their belief.

You have a funny way of looking at religion.

you can't blame the religion/belief system for that, it's people who use it the wrong or right way...the age old problem with religion has and always will be the different interpretations of it...but in this case, it was pretty clear that Rushdie meant to insult Islam and Muslims, not present a point of view....
