i'd bet that we will not sign hamsik. There are a lot of arguments speaking against a transfer, first of all his cost. napoli could demand whatever they want for him, because they don't intend to sell him.
Hamsik is not the type of player we will buy atm. Hamsik would be ideal if we'd have a settled midfield, no problems in defense and our attack covered. Hamsik seems to me the perfect substitute, whom you can make grow and slowly integrate into a team. But that's not our situation. We need experienced players, who can stand the pressure of both Serie-A AND CL. Our 'prey' should be players at the peak of their career, like 26-28 yrs old, which can assure a decent upgrade of quality to our squad. I rate Hamsik, and I'd love to sign new promising youngsters (Huntelaar, Piatti, Hamsik, and the list goes on...) but we're not in a position where we can gamble on a player.
Plus, i don't think we need a new player in the hamsik-position. When giovinco comes back, we'll be pretty much settled in midfield i'd think (unless management pulls out a monster-transfer out of the blue like vdv or diego)
We would use Hamsik as an LM, at least for his adaptation period.
Napoli owners now that they will be forced to sell him, it is only naturall for a player to move forward when he reaches a class better than his team. Hamsik is ready to do that step, he would be the man to sub the retiring Neddy, one season would be enough for him to adapt here and for our team to become less Neddy dependent, one year before he retires!
Hamsik would be a great addition and i think he already is ready for a starter position, being Neddy's sub for a year would take away all the pressure and let him shine!
About the price, we could include one of our players that wear our jersey but dream of Napoli's, Criscito and Noce to name a few and the name of Palla might be added to that list, i also heard a rumor some time ago that Napoli was interested on Blasi, these player are young and talented enough to match Napoli's ambitions and let us sign him for a lesser sum.

But i also doubt it will happen, Hamsik himself is not interested to join us and Napoli hates us so much, that would prefer to sell him in another team for less money...atm they want to keep him!

Having Hamsik as Neddy's sub, Maxi R. as Camo's sub and Amauri as DP\Treze's would bring us a great very good squad depth!

But we must fix the LB and CM problem first!

Juve to offer Palla for Hamsik?
Friday 11 April, 2008

Juventus forward Raffaele Palladino could be set for Napoli in an exchange deal for talented midfielder Marek Hamsik.

Palladino, who is a native of Naples, has admitted his frustration this term as he has struggled to hold down a place in Juve’s first team.

The former Azzurrini man’s chances of being selected for Euro 2008 have been dented by a lack of playing time and he is reportedly ready for crisis talks with his agent at the end of the current campaign.

While Sampdoria, Genoa and Fiorentina are said to be keeping an eye on the 23-year-old, Tuttosport suggests that the Old Lady will use Palla as a bargaining chip in their bid to land Napoli’s Hamsik.

Hamsik has been a great success at the Stadio San Paolo since arriving from Brescia in the summer.

It is no secret that Juve hold the Slovakian midfielder in high regard, but Napoli sporting director Pierpaolo Marino has been quick to stress that he is not for sale.

While the Vesuviani may be reluctant to trade Hamsik for cash, they could be tempted by the chance to add a gifted front man to the ranks, possibly in a part-exchange agreement.
