He would be a magnificent transfer.
This would also go very good with the return of Giovinco.
Hamsik is a very complete player and would go good with Momo in the middle.
Chelsea are in the running to sign him i have heard. Also Napoli have made it clear they do not want to sell.
We would really have to spend big to get him, but it would be so worth it.

he is only 22 and is much more consistent now. he has scored many goals recently and has had many good performances. He is the best player in germany.
I am only put off by his huge price tag of 30 or more. I think Deco - Tiago Swap and maby 15 million for Hamsik would be a much smarter buy. Especially seeing how we have Giovinco. We can put any extra money to a defender that way too.
If we can Make like 3 excellent transfer moves like: Hamsik, Deco and Barzagli or just get Diego .. i would defn go with the 3.

How would you like if no one judged Hamsik in his good half season so far(thats all it is), and judged him solely in his Serie B season or other less impressive times couple of years ago?
Diego IS the best player in Bundesliga, and one of the best playmakers in the world, we will be lucky to even get him under 30m, and at that get him before Real, Inter or other top teams. He does not only assist the most in Bundesliga, but he scores the most too.

Diego is better no doubt.
But Hamsik might be good given our funds and how he would fit into the team. plus we have Giovinco and Camo and if we can get Deco for a Tiago swap then Hamsik would be more needed.

No one has taken it to a personal lever as he did.
Diego was damn good in Brazil, a tougher leage than Serie B. Just because Diego had a difficult season with Porto doesn't really prove anything with three top years of play in Germany. He's easily the best player in Germany, has been the best these past two seasons, and knowing that the Bundesliga is a better league than the Superliga, you have to admit Diego is the better player of the two right now. Perhaps Hamsik will become the better player in the future, but right now Diego >>> Hamsik.
For now, it's true that Nocerino won't be in our long term plan. Any purchase including him is ok for me.
Or, bench him for a while in case he has played too much to grow.

I dont think its fair to compare Hamsik and Diego. Yes they are both attack minded midfielder's, but Hamsik is more Seedorf and Diego more Kaka if u get what Im saying.
If we had the cash we could sign both and play them in the same team. They're both great players, and there wouldn't be any redundancy in a midfield consisting of them both.

Believe me. I watched many of Diego's games when he was 20, 21. I was not very impressed. And this in the Portuguese league, where he should have shined. He had no excuses not to shine there.
Instead, he completely pissed me off. He was frustrating to watch. I was expecting the second coming of Christ from all the Brazilian followers who pumped him up. Instead, I saw two years of lackluster performance and a player who looked lost most of the time.
Two seasons at Porto. Champions League play included. I lived through all the pre-Porto hype on the guy. He had two full seasons and lived up to none of it. Porto even made him leave town.
Now he's knocking them dead in Germany. All well and good. But that kind of hot vs. cold performance between those two leagues, end-on-end, makes me more than a little suspicious that the guy won't be a slam-dunk export out of Germany to Serie A with success.
Hamsik isn't performing nearly to the level Diego is now, but he's younger and he's doing it in Serie A already. Which is more than I can say for Diego.
Diego will come far more expensive, far more risk of a disappointment in a league transfer and resettlement, and raises far more questions about whether the real Diego was the one at Porto or the one at Werder (think Tiago and Lyon or Juve). And I would argue as a club -- style of play, management, ownership, club culture, city mentality -- Juve are a lot closer to Porto than we are to Werder Bremen.
It is unfair. But if we have to make choices about what's right for the future of Juve, because we sure as hell aren't going to sign both, my money is on Hamsik over Diego. More chance of upside and fewer downside, and making a legitimate bid for Diego right now would be financially irresponsible of our board.
