No I only approve of violence for self defense.

I agree that the stadium was a disaster and that UEFA used Liverpool fans as a bit of a scapegoat to avoid responsibility for choosing that place. A friend of mine was there and said that he regretted paying for a ticket since many went on through holes in the walls. That doesn't mean that it's ok to charge at another terrace.

Jack many Liverpool fans were determined to avenge the beating they took in Rome the previous year by Roma fans and police. I don't think they wanted to kill...but many wanted to fight.

I don't want to turn this into a debate on Heysel, but poor segregation and a shitty stadium were just as responsible for what happened..
    :agree:

Also, running at the opposition fans was seen as harmless fun by British fans back then, the problem was that the Juve fans didn't understand what was happening..
:disagree: Some Liverpool fans were hell bent on trouble, although they probably didn't mean their actions to cause the loss of lives (as per Gsol's statement). However, at the time Liverpool fans had already been causing a lot of trouble with their hooliganism that merited them a ban from Europe. This incident finally forced FIFA's hand and banned them.

The Liverpool fans will not have set out to do serious damage, it was an unfortunate set of circumstances that caused it and too easy just to totally blame Liverpool.
    :agree:

What's inter got to do with this? Oh, forget that I asked - I'm trying to ignore them.

    ......

:agree: There was an article in the forums about this before you joined.

Fans wanting to fight? WOW!! That is something new to the world of football, shall we blame Liverpool fans who came to Brussels on that day for creating this behaviour in the world of football.

That's what we think of their friendship.

I was laughing in this thread too. Then I was asked a question and I answered it honestly. Next thing I know everyone is criticizing me.

Sorry next time I'll lie and tell everyone what a hippy I am and how I dream of a world in harmony.

I know that the ones responsible were few...yes I think them dying would be fitting. No I don't think all Liverpool fans should pay for it because they can't all be douchebags but the reason that tragedy occured was because of an environment that Liverpool fans allowed to get out of hand at the time.

Hooligans were destroying everything and frankly it's coming back. Now it's everywhere and I'm sick of it. No one learned.
I actually agree with gsol here, but it must be said that not all of our Ultras disrespected the Liverpool "friendship" banner and premise. For instance, some of the older members of the defunct Fighters didn't.

gsol is correct on the revenge theory or shall I say obvious fact.

Where did I say any of those names?

And you can call them murderers, slaughterers and animals if they were at Heysel wanting revenge for the Roma incident.
