But you can't possibly neglect the fact that the Italians were and still are masters of that.
See that's just your view, but not one that is shared all over the world, as you claim. For example, I keep hearing from english people and media how Germans are divers (Klinsmann in particular) and how they started the diving trend. Why the germans? Oh because they hate them the most, which is why you put the negative labels on Italy.

Oh, that annoying "Croatian cheaters" stereotype. It's all over the media when Croatia plays and you can hear it in every bar.
No offense to you or anything, but croatians would be so lucky to get a "cheaters" stereotype, compared to what they have now in many parts of the world.

Ahmad, I remember Algerian members here accusing Egypt players of time wasting and I also remember Ahmed and other Egyptians accusing Algerians of playing dirty football :D

We can easily make an experiment here. We have people from most countries in the world. Ask them about the situation in their country and the general opinion about Italian football.
If they're honest, and they will be, I think that I will be proven right about the general impression of calcio (no matter if it's right or wrong impression)

So time wasting and physical play are now considered cheating? Well that's a new one.

Wait.. time wasting is considered sportsmanlike behaviour?

Now I understand the Algerian goalie! He was actually being a good guy.

If you're in extra time and you score and you then go down for 28 minutes, yes, I consider that cheating. The guy should have been banned for years. Disgraceful.

Your mind is already made up. I mean if you really can't see the atrocious play-acting by Bilic vs. France and that's your fanboyism on one side, and on the other side is your anti-fanboyism in regards to Italy, then there's absolutely no point in discussing it with you because you'll never be able to have anything even close to resembling objectivity.

I think you ought to know and I'm not gonna repeat bullshit like that, because I don't believe in labeling people, whether it's a nation or its NT supporters, players, etc..

But I'm offering you a chance to prove me wrong. People from every part of the world in this forum. They can all tell you about the general opinion in their country.

I don't know, tell me. I won't be insulted.

General opinion in my country is that Southern Europeans are cheaters, Easter Europeans commit horrible fouls and Scandinavians are good sports.

Yes, they say Italians dive, but the same goes for Portugal and Spain.

It's not cheating because the ref can always punish that kind of play and he can always add more minutes to the game but it's not fair either.
Can he really? He should, no doubt, but can he really? I mean, he should have added 28 minutes in that game against Ivory Coast.

Italy and Italian clubs don't have many fans in Iran but I've barely seen people saying that they are cheaters. Italians are always considered lucky who don't know how to play beautiful football. That's all.

Yeah right, because everyone would answer in honesty, because there's absolutely no negative bias towards the Azzurri on this board, oh no sir.

Dude, do you really think the way Croatian fans behave on away games it wouldn't rub off on (dumb) people's general opinion of croatians?

Good. Next one.

And remember, the general opinion doesn't make it a fact, doesn't make it an undeniable truth. So Southern Europeans shouldn't feel offended if in Belgium they're considered cheaters.

But juventus1897 says that it's only my mind and it's not a worldwide opinion that Italians are divers or cheaters, so lets see if he's right.

Lets take that for granted, every team that wasts time after taking a lead or after having a good result should be considered a cheater from now on. Japan are cheaters because today in the final ten minutes some of their players started wasting time and got booked doing so, wait, does this mean that even a yellow card isn't worthy of that often used today "disgraceful" behavior 7? You must be the new fifa president, I bet no team will win the fair-play if that happens.

Oh and you still haven't justified calling Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco cheaters along with every North African country. I guess this just goes along with every generalization you made in this forum.

There's a big difference between wasting 10 seconds and wasting A FULL HALF HOUR.

I did call Egypt cheaters too by the way. I'll apologise for Morocco, Libya and Tunisia.
