I know it's the wrong thread but I gotta admit in terms of extraordinarily and out of this world goals and skills then messi is way above cr9 or anyone else I've ever seen in my life. Cr9 is better when it comes to being a homo he could stick his deck in 3 guys at once while standing in his usual legs apart free kick pose.

True.

I find Messi bland as a player/person, but cant take away from him that his football skills is way superior to Ronaldo and his movement with the ball the same. Ronaldo is the perfect goalscorer though, maybe even the best of all time ?

Yeah Ronaldo does have a better end product but to be honest I find that bland. Messis goals are worth watching over and over again. It's in the same category as maradona goals etc. Admirable quality. I don't like cristina her arrogance on the pitch is annoying, while there's plenty of videos off the pitch showing he's actually a nice guy. Still, I don't like him because he's revered in the EPL world as their product or should I say the united world. Their fans claim they made cRonaldo. You could argue, It's a similar thing to what we say about zidane but cRonaldo has sadly gone a step further and as fans we are like to measure our dicks don't we?

True that Messi goals mostly are true beauties, where Ronaldo (at least today) are more poacher goals, but okay a goal is a goal and means the same

Some of those solo goals are crazy

There were the Loliga defending excuses but he scored insane goals in CL as well. I mean defenders lined up to intercept or win the ball, block him off or even foul the midget but he's centre of gravity is truly insane. Maybe them growth drugs he took did it but I guess we'll never know. Love him or loathe him decades from now we can truly say we saw a player out of this world. And before anyone says it, no I'm not sucking his dick.

Yeah he scored insane goals against some of the best defenders/goalkeepers many times, but like I said before I just find him bland as person/player

There are many others I find way more interesting even though they are not his level

I am born in 1979 and started following football, in the European Championship 1984, where France won. I followed football ever since and Messi is the best I have ever seen. I hate Barca and dont particular like Messi, but as a football player he is a once in a lifetime kind of player.
So we're more or less the same age. The idea of Messi being the best of all time has been exaggerated all because of his stats/awards. But what many, mostly younger people seems to forget is comparing players from different eras simply can't be done.

If you're really seem Maradona like I did, and all those others, like I also did, you realized football was as tough as it could be. The times I've seen something skilled players like Maradona back in the day almost getting their legs broken was just too many. Referees didn't protect anyone no matter how famous, something they do today. Defenders didn't hold back. What is certainly a red today was a yellow card, if that, back then.

You can't tell me the best player of all time is the one who cries over being tackled just a little bit in South America. He wouldn't survive what Pelé went through in 66', what Maradona got from Goikoetxea. Hell, do yourself a favor and rewatch the 78' WC final, it was a bloodbath. Messi and his modern counterparts wouldn't have one lasted one half.

He's a soft player for a soft generation of weak defending, angel guarding referees and a player that will never do anything worthy outside Barcelona. Great talent, one of the best for that reason. Of all time? Fuck that, Pelé and Cruyff were true revolutionaries and Maradona a monster at any level, any club.

It's impossible to compare. But today, the game is much more about athletics and team play. I'm not saying Messi (and the likes) are lesser technical, but they didn't have the support as todays attackers. The game was much more individual. That's also why the defenders were much better man to man.

You're lost today (even at amateur level) if you can't run like the sun. It wasn't like that earlier.

Agreed, its really hard to compare players back then with today. The game evolved a lot, but I would still say there are some all time greatest that will remain as they had a giant influence on the game.

Pele, Beckenbauer Cruyff, Maradona, Platini and so on are the likes that will always be viewed as the best and rightfully so if you ask me
