Well you have to go deeper than just looking at the goals and assists. You have to look at who they came against and overall performances. As I said 2013-14 and 2016-17 were immense by Ronaldo no doubt can't drag that down. However 2014-15 and 2015-16 were mostly filled with him with him stat padding vs teams such as Shakhtar, Copenhagen, Schalke etc. Then went he would actually score important goals it would come against Roma who were 3rd in Serie A and Wolfsburg who finished 8th in the Bundesliga that season while going missing in both the semis and final. Within this 4 year span Messi and Suarez were both quite clearly superior in the 2015-16 and 2014-15 CLs.

Dont come up with bull$#@! excuses now
Anyone who watched football back then knows Ronaldo did not play any deeper than Messi during that time period.

No matter how much you wish it to be true Ronaldo once its all said in done Ronaldo will never be considered at Messi's level. But atleast he will always have his own underwear line :baus:

Messi is the best of all time. I am old enough to have seen Platini, Maradona, Van Basten, Baggio, Romario, The Real Ronaldo, Zidane and CR7, and nobody has been as dominant and done it which such consistensy as Messi.
Only an idiot like PI would argue that Ronaldo comes anywhere close to Messi.

Meh easy for plebs like you to critisize when he gets back the one that got away from his youth when you would probably going running back to yours you just arent rich and famous enough to make it happen. Instead you just repress it and have increasingly unfullfilling sex with the best you can get
Sorry, I forgot that cuckoldry is america's second favourite pastime ::lol3::

Higuain bashers in this thread are really starting to get to me.

The way I see it, he is our best player. By a mile.

I just think it's sad to log onto Tuz, opening this thread wanting to read about my favourite (outfield) player, and all I see is this shit.

Remind me when I said Costa is on Cavani or Higuain's level? Or is a CF whose job it is to score goals.

I see you are going to be a baby about Costa et al all summer. Good for you. Ignore.
Yeah. Those weren't your exact words. I'm sorry :sergio:

Sad to see that Higuain is the favourite player of some Juve fans. I guess at the end of the day most fans of any team are just as clueless as the average EPL fan.

If you had really seen those players you'd never say such blasphemy.

I am born in 1979 and started following football, in the European Championship 1984, where France won. I followed football ever since and Messi is the best I have ever seen. I hate Barca and dont particular like Messi, but as a football player he is a once in a lifetime kind of player.

Interesting. My uncles who watched those players usually put Platini, Cruyff, Maradona, and Pele in one tier then Messi in the same tier as Zico and R9. The only thing keeping Messi in that tier is lack of international success.

Cant really comment on Crueff or Pelé. Never seen them play exept for some highlight videos. Platini is definetly a tire below Messi. Maradona and Fat Ronaldo had the same crazy talent as Messi, but they did not perform with the same consistency as Messi and for the same number of years.

For me top five goes:
Messi
Maradona
Fat Ronaldo
Zidane
Platini

Also I think it is silly to judge players on having won a world cup or not. It is the player as a individual we are talking about.

I know it's the wrong thread but I gotta admit in terms of extraordinarily and out of this world goals and skills then messi is way above cr9 or anyone else I've ever seen in my life. Cr9 is better when it comes to being a homo he could stick his deck in 3 guys at once while standing in his usual legs apart free kick pose.
