He also played more games, maybe that's why. Higuain put in 32 goals and 4 assists in 55 games (all comp.), while Ronaldo had 28 goals and 11 assists in 43 games, while playing in the more defensive team (Mandzu-Dybi-Cuads-Pjanic-Sami in a 4231 vs Mandzu-Dybi-Blaise-Pjanic-Sami in a 433). Ronaldo carried the team in the CL knockouts as well. Considering he was new to the league and started kinda slow, rest of the season he smashes Higgy to pieces
Ronaldo was the first choice penalty taker in 2018/19, Dybala was in 2016/17. That makes Higuain’s 32 goals super impressive.

Higuain was the striker in 2017, Mandzukic was in 2019. Also ignoring assists, games and minutes played, overall play as well as Ronaldos slow start in the new league is just a bad way to look at this.

:agree:

In Serie A Higuain scored 39 non-penalty goals during 2016-2018
In Serie A Ronaldo scored 35 non-penalty goals during 2018-2020

Pretty similar contributions from Higgy and Ronaldo in terms of goal output in Serie A if we remove penalties. Higuain scoring 24 non-penalty goals in 2016/2017 is especially a really impressive tally. For example Immobile scored 22 non-penalty goals last season.

What in my opinion sets Ronaldo apart is his ability to often find that extra gear in CL knockouts and in other decisive moments.

Higuain wasnt very good in his 2nd season, he was very good in his first season and average in 2nd, failing to live up to his transfer fee (record for Juve at that point) and wage (also record for Juve at that point).

That finally settles it, Piggy is better than Princess. :agree: And how many freekick goals did we score since Piggy didn't take any of those freekick goals away from Dybi and Pjanic?

For Juventus, if only looking at their first two seasons, both have basically contributed the same in terms of goals in the CL (knockout or otherwise) and also very similar number of 'winning' goals in the league.

It was really only the second part of that 2017/2018 season that he started struggling. His form dropped off considerably after a promising 18 month period.

Nah, he improved in the 2nd part of the season. Scored some crucial goals as well. He was poor as hell in the 1st half of 17-18 season.
Pretty much he was on a downward spiral since the beginning of 2017-18 season when he showed up to training overweight.

Fair enough, but I remember it differently. Obviously had those few nice games against Spurs for example, but in Serie A he started to look super sluggish towards the end of that season.

He also had a super slow start to the campaign with Dybala on fire and Higgy taking a solid few months to get going. Overall it was an average season, Matri and Quags would probably contribute a similarly in his position in 17/18, only those guys never were 90m strikers on 7.5m a season.

He is such a fine footballer but his mental strength in important situations is very bad. We should have hired him a therapist, he must have some kind of a trauma. It's unbelievable how he fucks every time he has to score an important goal. In Cardiff he was also very bad

Once again, you’re spewing complete horse shit. We’ve sacked 2 managers in the last 9 years. Yes, we made terrible decisions like renewing Khedira and buying Higuaín in the first place, but for every Khedira or Higuaín there are some fantastic purchases like Barzagli, Pogba and Pirlo, De Ligt, Vidal, Ronaldo, Dybala, Szczesny. Juve had no business being among the top of Italian football after Calciopoli given how far ahead Inter, Milan and Roma were ahead of us. We were ruthless with Del Piero, Marchisio, Mandzukic and Trezeguet. Sadly, Khedira and Higuain want their pound of flesh and won’t leave unless they receive full compensation. There’s nothing Juve or Agnelli can do about it now. If you can’t take the bad with the good, find a different team, or better yet, a different sport.
You have completely missed the point and it is not your place to speak about me and Juve.
Also return to your mom and ask you to teach you some manners son, it will be useful for the hard road ahead.
When you are not sure about we are talking about, better just shup it and listen, you will learn smth and one day, you will be wise enough to come up with some useful input...

I dont get the hate he gets. It’s not his fault Juve paid for him 90m. Him wanting to respect the contract is nothing wrong. Few days ago people were complaining that Arthur wasnt professional for not going back to Barca. Loaning him to Milan fucked him up badly. Id be destroyed too. I cant even watch a full 90min game of Milan let alone play for those scums.
