It would upset our entire salary ladder unless he'd be willing to accept 4,5 mil a season, which is very very very very unlikely. Is this even a serious question ? Everyone had to take paycuts to fit into our salary cap, if someone will earn 6mil + bonusses all of a sudden, there will immediately be a few frowning faces on Marotta's doorstep and many will demand a pay raise...
so now the players at the club already determine what the newcomers should earn? Thats just ridiculous. How does someone who will earn 4.5 mill lead to a low end earner at the club demanding more? Likewise with a newcomer earning 6 or more? Players are paid in accordance to their age and ability. If they dont like it then they can gtfo

whats really funny is how all tevez arguments go down the same way, first they call him a merc then upon establishing that almost everyone out there is one, they question his ability and his age, the they get schooled in the type of player he is, and finally his wage demands are brought up. all this showing that these detractors are driven by uneducated bias, they are regurgitating what they read or saw somewhere.

then that would be like saying Quagliarella and Matri are bigger difference makers in the CL than Tevez, there for we should stick with them. I think some of those who oppose tevez are seriously clutching straws on this latest excuse to turn down what can only be seen as a fantastic opportunity in the market, something that Marotta has long talked about
Of course, I'm clearly saying Quagliarella and Matri are better, and that Tevez isn't a very good player.

Plus he ain't no CL difference maker if we look at the numbers, is he?
This isn't an incorrect statement, if we are looking at numbers, yet it was mocked. That's what I replied to.

But sure, this means I don't rate Tevez, don't want him at the club, basically I think he is a pretty shit player.

im not having a go at you at all JJ, im just saying that if people against the tevez deal are going to rate him on the number of goals in the CL to how decisive he will be for us then that is such a flawed argument since Quagliarella and Matri have scored more in the CL

I asked you before, but didn't get an answer. Do you think the sample size is big enough to make any conclusions? You made your conclusion based on Tevez' CL performances in City.

I just think it's a shame that when someone makes a valid point (it was just about stats) they are ridiculed. After all, there are enough people quick enough to judge positiely based on CL goals, but not when it's a favourite player the other way around.

Sorry I was eating. I think Man City is quite a good comparison, being a new CL team, which is what we are. Even if you take his entire CL career he has 6 goals and I don't think even a handful of assists in 27 games, so he's not tearing it up in terms of stats.

Still, he contributes in terms you can't always measure. I just wouldn't expect mega stats from him if he were to sign. You can game change in those ways, but the easiest way for a player in his position is with goals and assists.

Since this Higuain saga, or any top striker, seems that will drag on right until the end of the transfer window, I am disconnecting from football related Internet to preserve my mental health. I will be back at the first game of the season to be surprised or not. Lets see if I can resist the temptention.
