Because our Italien attackers are not good enought. Would Higuain start in Italy? Probably, would he be before Quagliarella,Matri,Giovinco in the line for a starting place, without doubt.
It's not even something to discuss? Higuain/Tevez/Jovetic is far better strikers then we currently have.
It's illegal for players to even talk with other clubs before the clubs themselves agree a fee. All of the "PLAYER X agreed terms with Juventus" rumours are mostly bullshit made up by the so called "journalists".
The only option Higuain or anyone else could agree terms with Juventus is if his club let him talk with other clubs, which rarely happens. It results in less money for the seller.
I'm honestly amazed that so much people around here are taking such "news" seriously.

We'll use Juventus and Real Madrid for an example.
Juventus most likely enquired about the availability of Higuain and if they can talk to him. I'm guessing Real Madrid allowed talks to take place. If, Juventus were to find an agreement with Higuain THEN Juventus and Real Madrid will enter into discussions for a transfer price.
What's the point in discussing a transfer fee without even knowing if the player wants to move there in the first place?

Like I said the only possibility for us to discuss contract with Higuain is if Real let us do it. But I find it hard to believe because it makes getting more money difficult.
If they let clubs talk with him and he agrees a contract with one they have less arguments in negotiating the fee. They are in the worst situation of the 3 parties. However if they don't let clubs talk with the player they can agree for the best fee first. The player can of course refuse to move but it's still a better situation for the selling club. They will just present the 2nd best fee. And so on. They are not losing anything other than time but they can get more money.
People need to realise that 99% of the "rumours" are made up stories because the sport papers in Italy have to fill their pages with something. Most of the journalists know shit about the negotiations and try to make up a plausibly sounding stories. This is how the Aguero or Van Persie sagas got blown out of proportion.

I'm pretty sure Marotta/Paratici have received the necessary "blessings" to talk to/approach the player (or agent) to discuss his contractual situation and how willing he is to join etc.
anyway, every time they mention Pipita to Juve on RAI, SKY, Mediaset...they show him missing easy goals. The guy scored some amazing ones and they show him lose the ball or shoot wide.
If Marotta manages to screw this one up, I'll be pissed to see some 2nd or 3rd options like Gomez and Dzeko go somewhere else. Gomez has no business in playing for Garbage City, he'd probably play for us if we wanted him and the Higuain option was too expensive.
