It's impossible to get both. Pointless discussion.

We're moving early for Higuain it seems and that is great.

No. That'd be 50 million for two players and we'll never spend that under Marotta. Clearly we'll buy one big name at 25 million this year from what's being reported.
Fiorentina have an offer of 25 million from Arsenal, we have to match that if we want him and I don't believe we will.
The fact that we are moving so early, indicates that there maybe another high profile signing around July/early August. It could be one reason why we are trying to close the Higuain deal with a clear cut approach.

I don't agree about Jojo not being possible this window either. The situation with him is pretty similar to that of Higuain, albeit not official since they haven't come out nd said he's for sale. But when you look at AdV and Prade's words, and the player himself, you know he's out of there in the summer. The fact that we met with his agent again and offered 30m last summer, is evidence of our interest in him, and it's clearly not an either/or scenario because we Jojo will not cost us 30m in cash when we give Fiorentina a month or two to find a replacement and compensate with players they like in return. I can see us buy Higuain for between 20-22m and Jojo for 15m plus Matri and DC/1/2Marrone etc. that is really not impossible to achieve to be honest. But it all depends on Conte wanting and rating the player for his system.

In honour of Trez.
I see Llorente take the 17 markus. :)

how does thinking benzema is better than higuain make one spoiled?

not to mention that if higuain was as good as some of you are saying a lot more teams would be interested in him.

society members.
This is what I don't get either. In my estimate he is a good player, but has only been able to evoke the interest of Juve, Gala and Tottenham. Says a lot about his perception in the European market. It really comes down to the coach and what he sees the player capable of doing in his system. I think Higuain would do well at Juve, but he is massively overrated on this forum and is not a game changer. But if getting him allows us to reinvest in an SS like Jojo or a winger like Nani, then I think it's a good way to play the mercato. Having said that though, no prejudice, early days still.

Besides, if Benzema is unattainable, then there really is no use.

I'm not a huge fan of Higuain, but I won't complain either, since my first choice for the past 2 1/2 years is practically unattainable, despite the ridiculous rumors that came out yesterday or the day before.
Yes, but your first choice is who should evoke the kind of response we are seeing in this thread. :D I'm not a huge fan of Higuain either, and if we are only spending big on one player then I rather it be someone else, but I genuinely think that signing a guy like Higuain would leave room for another interesting coup on the market while plugging athe important gap of a goal scorer.

No chance of getting him.
Why so cynical man? If we are serious about him, we are going to get him coz the player wants us. His club is selling, and apparently we want him too. They want 25m, we are offering 20m. Small gap to bridge, certainly not out of the realms of possibility. Liven up especially if you are a Higuain fan. :D

We do not get good news from Spain. According to the Catalan newspaper "Sport", Gonzalo Higuain was already 'an agreement with Arsenal for a five-year contract. The Gunners are ready to pay € 22 million to Real Madrid for his card. The Pipita prefer the Premier League to the Italian Serie A and also the blancos would be ready to give the green light. Everything, however, 'and' linked to Arsenal's qualification for the next Champions League, otherwise Higuain could opt for Tottenham, other team interested in his services, and in its fight with the Gunners for fourth place

tuttojuve
Catalan paper reporting about a Madrid player. Highly doubtful. Higuain being Franco-Argentine is going to be more inclined to Italy anyway. And the CL is not going to happen for Arsenal.

And no Hig can only mean Ibra. Cheer up peeps. :D
