I do realize Pepe pressures our opponents and has an incredible work-rate, but someone who is less defensively astute and works a little harder but is far more talented and smart will enable us to be more threatening going forward, while not losing too much on the defensive end.

@ Gabriel: I'm sure we will be upgrading the defense as well, so ur concerns regarding our suspect defense remain true for now, but shall be addressed in the summer.

No. At least I speak for myself when I say this. He is a very limited player. Look at how Man City, Barca, and Madrid play. Do you see Ronaldo, Ozil, Di Maria, Sanchez, Pedro, Villa, Silva, or any of these guys tracking back as much as Pepe?

It depends though as every game goes through different facets, take an instance of Juve domination and chiellini consecuently goes further up the pitch to (at least try) to attack and it backfiring on the team. A long pass to the winger and the counterattack could be deadly since Chiellini doesn't really has the pace to compete with a good/top winger.

I agree that wingers from lesser sides would get the opportunity more often but they will also proceed to waste it more often than not.
