:agree:

Trez had finishing ability, but little else you look for in a CF.

Higuain has almost everything you want in a CF, but isn't a reliable finisher.
Really? His finishing isnt the reason he lost his spot to Benzema, exactly the opposite apparently, that he is "only" a finisher. He is not the most clinical of finishers, but he is a very good one.

I haven't seen him much lately, but I've never thought he had a good enough chance conversion rate.

I do like Higuain's general movement a lot, though.

Last two seasons his conversion rate has approached quite a bit, this season he has played the least of their offensive players but is 2nd only to Ronaldo in goals. He kinda went bananas some months back scoring hattrick every game, and those goals were basically most of the shots he attempted. But yeah his best asset is his mobility and general awareness in how he moves into channels. He would be a massive boost over Matri.

Matri really isn't that suited to playing as a lone striker, I don't think.

He's willing to try to do more, but he's basically a poacher who can do a little bit extra. Certainly not anything approaching the sort of rounded striker I would look to play in a 4-3-3.

4-3-3 is one of the kind of formations that actually demands the lone forward to be near the complete forward, Batistuta/Drogba/Zlatan/Eto'o comes to mind.

Obviously Barcelona is the exception to the rule.
