This is moving towards a good old bashing argument, whereas I was just pointing out the fallacy in your post based on reality.
Bashing what or whom? Just pointing out our mistakes from the past.
I've already told you how we can sign one early; pay the money they want. You don't advocate that, apparently, and I don't, so we'll go through usual procedure and risk losing a player. I say losing as if we are in pole position, but really just a club who wants him. That's modern football.
That or lose out on the player anyway, coz we certainly won't be getting the terms we are holding out or, once the competition arrives. If anything, we'll just step aside altogether.
I really don't know how you come to the conclusion of the first point, considering what officials at Juve, Madrid and now Arsenal have said in regards to the situation. This is more than subjective, like the rest of this part. I'm trying to follow things how they are actually happening.
The Higuain situation isn't at all like Llorente's.
Dunno what you mean by actually happening. Perez just said 30m won't be enough for Higuain!? Should we believe that coz a Madrid official apparently said so? My conclusion is that the truth is somewhere in the middle, and even if he did say it, it doesn't become true. It's mercato talk for buying time till a new coach arrives.
The Higuain situation is similar to Llorente in the sense that we are dealing with a high profile player who could've also sparked competition from other clubs. Even moreso coz there was one less variable to deal with: his club. Had we beat around the bush in the salary negotiations, I don't think we'd have Llorente.
So basically your answer is that you don't think we can negotiate several deals at one time, and we miss out on players because of that. Needless to say I don't agree.
Well, it isn't a Marrotta speciality IMO. So yea, we tend to drop the ball when not focused on our primary target.
