To be honest, I am not sure why this is so surprising to many of you. Though I hear what Zach is saying about a "friendly" way of hard negotiating, I actually agree with Real Madrid here that it wouldn't be appropriate to unload a fairly high profile player before they sign a new coach. Right now, Real Madrid's highest priority should be signing a manager. If they start selling players before locking in the manager, the club will look some what in disarray.

I wouldn't be surprised if the deal is (or is close) to being in place, but it wouldn't be professional to make this transaction until their highest priority (ala the beginning of the new regime) is in place. This is very similar to how American Professional Sports conduct business.

Lets see, I don't rate sportmediaset so high, I want to hear what Di Marzio has to say, if he says the same then my hopes will go up, but I am optimistic about the deal. Lets see what happens
sportmediaset

last week, we signed tevez
yesterday, we signed higuain for 20 mil

I agree they are not so reliable. That's why I want to see what Di Marzio says, IMO he is the most reliable source. Of course he is wrong sometimes but he is alot better then the rest IMO

Definitely thats the source with the most stupid news in this mercato. They are definitely leading the race.

well Zuliani's sources claims that it will be Tevez, Ogbonna and Zuniga this summer.

he's usually not wrong
Maby that is what someone heard Marotta or someone else in the club talking about. Still it is many factors to look at, can we get them? I heard that Pellegrini want to keep Tevez, and that Zuniga could sign a new contact. If that is the case then we will look for other players ofcourse

So apparently Real has accepted to receive the payments in 4 years. That should be enough to close the deal in 30 millions. The extra revenue that higuain will bring, would make that number affordable in the coming years. Still it seems that juve keeps offering 22 and the deal could close in 25. Great job by Marotta if that happens but should offer more to close this deal quicker.

Arsenal fans at work this morning are convinced that higuain will join arsenal on a 8mill a season contract
Lately all you've been posting about is what the Arsenal fans at work have been saying. As delusional as they sound(what club doesn't have these kind of fans; you being a prime example of a deluded Juventus fan) its getting tedious.

I'm more convinced that he'll join Arsenal too.
I strongly doubt we stand a chance, unless we completely overhaul our compensation strategy, I strongly doubt that will happen. I just cannot see us making him our highest paid player(I think he;s already making more than our highest earner).

Well I can't see us coughing up 25-30M either. So Tottenham it is then?

So much money for such a mediocre player.
Wouldn't say mediocre, I read Conte have been wanting him for years
