Our tulip garden just blossomed, it's February :undecide: This isn't supposed to happen until mid-April. I saw tonnes of spring flowers by the side of the motorway this morning too
on this topic, in toronto they had to close down all ski resorts and lay off hundreds because there was no snow

People who say that global warming is the biggest disaster that the earth is facing right now, why don't we start from the beginning, what are the causes which have led to raise the whole earth's temperature and who is responsible for it?

ReBeL, this is my first time to know that the solution of the global warming is in your hands. Try your best to solve it as soon as you can, at least, to save our innocent souls.

I live in tropical area and the weather here has never been cooler for the past 30 years (according to my lecturer). It's sometimes below 20C at night.

and this will be a big thing to tackle, firstly it will be all good just talking about climate change but getting america on board will be a hard test and china will pose an even bigger problem, they are developing soo fast and now they are going to need oil more than anyone and they wont be willing to give that up because their mentality will be, that everyone else has had the chance to evelop but now its their turn.

and i'm not being naive but i think we will get around this

Rebel, you are the most ridiculous global warming "protestant" I've seen in a while. Global warming unchecked will eventually destroy huge portions of landmass, kill millions of people and cause giant disruptions. But that's not a big enough issue for you.
    Thanks, martin...

Should I cry because of global warming to be not rediculous??

he cares more about fighting isrealis
    I love your useless conclusions...

What is that in comparison to liberating a land?
    Exactly...

No, rebel. But saying that it's a big fluke to deflect attention from the "real issues" *is* ridiculous. Global warming actually is one of those issues.

not really. it could be a big problem in the next 20-30 years, if not sooner
Well, the scary stuff is the evidence in polar ice cores that have shown that things like ocean currents can stop and reverse with temperature shifts, amplifying the effect, so there have been examples where ice ages can come on in just a matter of 6-7 years.

Climate change may be more insidious though -- kind of like the problems in Italian soccer. Corrosive, but they take a little time. First it starts out with the Netherlands and Venice under water. Within a few years, more hurricanes, drought, and famines. Then civil wars, riots, starving people, and more political unrest.

Before you know it, you look back 15 years and you realize it was once unthinkable to eat your neighbor as a food source.

Try Bangladesh. The Dutch government has been using extreme sea level rises as *the* standard for development since the dawn of time. The rises used as standards at the moment exceed that of the worst global warming related predictions

No, I didn't claim I had my own research...

But my own experiences with GLOBAL dangers tell me that this is another issue that could be used in the World news to avoid seeing the real problems...
You remind me more of George Bush and Dick Cheney every single day.

Unfortunately, Bangladesh floods and most of the world won't react. It's just how the world is.

It wasn't until we saw a death in Serie A that they finally suspended the sport.

So, what are the similarities that you find?
Stating global warming is a farce, thinking there are more important issues being clouded by events such as the deterioration of Iraq, perpetually thinking bombing is the answer, quick to stave off arguments they don't care about, are just a few similarities.

His viewpoint differs completely from yours and he has his reasons. You are an American and he is an Arab, this means that your problems aren't the same. I'm not saying that global warming isn't a massive catastrophe which threats the entire world, however, if you check the hezballa thread (check it here), you may make up your mind again about such an issue; why does he think that way?

By the way, ReBeL is far better than both George Bush and Dick Cheney. :agree:
