I'm not much into gardening, but I heard this greenhouse stuff is happening because of some guy named El Niño

It's a business & not a conspiracy...

Those scientists won't be famous if they won't say such things...

Terrifying people

Ohhh, and I suppose you have a written report to counter the findings of these 2,000 or so scientists? Are facts not facts and ten of the hottest years on record have not occured since 1994? Are ice sheets in Antarctica melting or are these 2,000 scientists simply applying their unused hairdriers to multiple portions of the region?

We have to make the distinction between scientific observations and mere "rent-seeking." These are not the same scientists as those being bought out by ExxonMobile to simply write reports that challange the evidence of global warming just so they can continue making ridiculous profits year after year. Many of these opposition "scientists" are payed by such companies to just conjure up arguments against global warming with reports that are not meteorologically and climatologically sound. The 2,000 or so scientists on this panel do their own research and write reports of their own findings and scientific observations without people on the side stuffing cash in their pockets...

It's funny, however, that you think this is all a farce. Do I smell a closet Bush and capitalistic environmental policy fan?!

Am I missing something? Where are all these famous scientists warning us about climate change? Are they out cruising the streets of L.A. in convertibles with porn stars hanging off each arm? Are they doing gigs with Justin Timberlake down at Madison Square Garden? Are they spending all that cash like drunken sailors, gobbling up island real estate in the Caribbean while playing chicken with each other in their yachts?

I am definitely missing out on this...

Global warming has not been 100% proven of course, however the evidence certainly tilts its way. To say that this is nothing more than a way for scientists to have their names recognized is simply laughable and reminds me of the far right-wing idiots in this country who state it's all left-wing propaganda.

:lol2: Yeah, I guess a lot of us are.

Two of the scientists on this IPCC panel are researchers for Penn State and one of them wrote an entire section of the report released to the public. I have met some of the leading scientists in meteorology and climatology here at this place, and every single one of them live humble lives under their sometimes measly salaries from the university. They are certainly a different breed than these mercenaries posing as scientists for big corporations.

If you were really in it for the money and fame, you would say global warming is a myth more than anything else.
