My argument isn't rooted in tribalism, it's rooted in reality. Club football is a global business nowadays. International football is based on nationality. That much is clear. If you're not Italian, you don't share anything with their culture or their people, so there isn't a reason to support the Azzurri. It is that simple.

When Italy won the World Cup in 2006, it was a win for their nation, not anyone else's. Your mistake is that you are trying to cloud the reality of what international and club football is based on. The whole "region" argument is void anyway considering Juve has always had a lot of support from Southern Italy.
Duh! Obviously the region argument doesn't work, it's your own argument just extended. You don't even make an effort to understand other POVs, all you are interested in is spewing your own. It's just ridiculous, how is international football NOT a global business? TV rights for the World Cup and Euros are expensive and in incredibly high demand, t shirts are sold every day from different countries (and no, not only italians get Azurri shirts and not only Brazilians get Brazil kits), people from all over the world want to see who's the best in an international setting as well. How is it not a global business? How is it not possible to garner affection for a team other than your own in this setting? It might not be your own national team, and quite obviously is not the same as if your own team won it, but real affection for a team does develop and plenty of people follow what the team does. I watch Serie A every weekend, how is it not possible to have at least some sort of interest over the Azurri as well?

Oh, but you get people like you who tell others who they have a RIGHT to support and who they have no business being interested in, lmao. Well, excuuuuuuse me princess, but go fuck yourself.

You aren't getting it. You don't need to be from a particular region to play for a club. Regions don't matter. Nationality doesn't matter. Have you ever heard of Krasic before? How about Sorensen? How about Melo? Are they Italians? No. Are they playing club footie in Italy? Yes. While on the other hand, the Azzurri is comprised solely of Italians. That is simply the way it is. If you don't like that fact, then support your own nation or don't watch international football at all.

You don't even make an effort to understand other POVs.
I understand your POV. It is based on cheering for something you are personally not connected to in any way.

The national teams themselves aren't a business. They are a representation of their own country's football. They are a group of individuals of the same nationality who try to bring joy to their own nation.. I mean, is this really so hard to understand?

Don't like it, don't watch it.

Well there you go, you said it yourself. Your own team isn't the Azzurri. So what's the point in trying to support another nation from your own? There is no benefit to you or your own people, nobody is going to go out of their way and say Italy and so and so from Timbuktu were World Champions in 2006, so what's the point?

You like the way they play? Fine, you enjoy watching them play, nothing wrong with that whatsoever. But what irks me is this whole notion of "supporting" something based on nationality that is completely alien to you. It's simply a silly premise and I'm going to make fun of it.

Oh, but you get people like you who tell others who they have a RIGHT to support and who they have no business being interested in, lmao. Well, excuuuuuuse me princess, but go fuck yourself.
Ahhh, someone's in a hissy tissy!

You don't have a right to support the Azzurri, in my opinion.

You have to love freedom of speech. :hi:

Meh in general my country don't care about Futból anyways, even when I wear my Azzurri Jersey (Del Piero) its oblivious to the public; won't have to worry about Bjerkness even though I can understand his opinion but I don't agree knowing we can wear whatever we want in this world, doesn't mean we HAVE TO WEAR OUR NATIONS JERSEY BY ALMIGHTY LAW

Looks like an average kid with a hard shot, which means guaranteed goals at that age with midget goalkeepers in full sized nets. This was two years before he moved to Italy? He must have improved a lot there :pumpkin:
