True, but 90mill for 29 years old striker who had weight problems every summer was a bit risky. But yes his previous two season was out of this world. The best thing was that we weakened napoli, they bought milik as his replacament haha
The thing about this is everyone wants us to bring in some big name players in their prime. But if you do that, there are 2 things that just have to be accepted:
1. You're going to be paying a premium
2. There's not going to be resale value, because they're already in their prime and will only decline thereafter

The weight is one thing, but the price just is what it is tbh

But he also buught mauricio isla, bernardeschi and higuain for 150mill.
But overlall yes, he is the best 'budget' sporting director in the world. I wouldnt say that some of the players you mention are the best ever but sure they were world class at some point.
agreed there are some bad transfers there like berna or almiron. realistically no director can get all transfers right. just neeeds to get enough right to be able to build a successful team.

so he finally confirmed all we talked about. He didnt want to sign Ronaldo and it was the reason he left.

While he was there, the financial gap between JJ and rest of Serie A was pretty significant. We turned this league into another Bundesliga.

5 years later, we are on the same or similar financial level as the Milano trannies. What a fall from grace. We could fall even further if one of them gets bought by the Arabs.

Beppe was proven right in the end. Sure Tici's screw-ups sunk us even more but this Ronaldo deal was burdening right from the beginning. You don't pull a move like that unless you are among the top 5 richest teams in the world.

no turk was right. marotta was good for juve, but there was some of shady shit going on in some of the deals.

almiron and jorge martinez deals were most suspicious. i believe if FIGC investigated these deals marotta would be banned for life.

that's a new narrative i'm reading from different sources today. back in 2018 nobody said that marotta was leaving because of the juve ultras - ndrangheta links, but when the same stuff happens at 2 of his last 2 clubs, it makes you think

marotta must be a very unlucky guy
