Serie A is a transit league however I wouldn't like to believe Juventus are back among the elite just because of one extraordinary season in Europe. For me,thats a realistic assessment of the club.
We'll be in a transition phase next year.

No way we're competing for CL next year.I'll be really surprised if we are somehow able to do so.

Serie A is a transit league. Juve isn't a transit team. Shocking over-exaggeration.
People get so absurd about 1 little tiny transfer. How does selling 1 single fucking 28 year old starter after winning 4 straight scudetti make us a transit team. Do they even read the trash they write? I guess Real Madrid is a transit team too for selling their second best player Di Maria last summer. Not every player sticks with 1 team for 5+ years. Or perhaps we were a transit team back in the early 00s as well, I mean, we sold Zidane. Crazy!!!

We should probably just give up. We're only in the top 10 economically, we only just played in a CL final, we've only spent around 80 mil so far this summer, we've only won 4 straight scudetti, we've only been getting better and better each season for 4 straight years...

But with a swift roll of Marotta's wonky eye, the house of cards has collapsed, welcome oblivion, Serie B, here we come!

Just hope that transition not to be pretty painful for us both in Serie A and in CL.Merda is very active on the market.Yeah ,probably the experts will laugh about this but we have to see what's happening.

Uses the same :sergio: to start his reply, calls my post "shameless brown-nosing", and now claims he wanted to discuss Marotta.
Because facepalm and writing is the same as facepalming

It's not really the selling, it's the price and the manner in which it was conducted. Unless we get Gotze this is going to be really embarrassing, charity-esque I would say. The whole of europe is going to be laughing at us for selling the best CM in the world for 35m. He was our best player at the end of the season after Tevez dropped in form. Yet we just handed him off to the first club that asked for a low price.

We are not at the level of Madrid, Barça, Bayer right now.

Our team is weaker than all three.Last season yes, we stood toe to toe with them but to truly be back among the elite we need to do this consistently.

It's utopian to think we'll be able to do it next yr with the current squad.Perhaps if we add Götze, maybe but I'd like to keep my feet on the ground than delude myself after one great season.

When we sold Zidane back then, we bought readymade top players in Buffon, Thuram and Nedved.
How is the current situation even comparable ?

I'm not super happy with the price either. And though I think either Goetze or Draxler would be a fine signing, and one that, when combined with DYbala, Mandzukic, Khedira, would show that we do have ambition, I would be quite disappointed if we don't sign a CAM, of the quality/potential of a Draxler at the very least.

But, I'll reserve judgment until I see how we start our season, especially our CL campaign. There's not really much point in doing otherwise, as for all we know Morata could become an absolute beast this year, or Dybala could go crazy right off the bat and look like a world class player, or even Khedira could regain his best form, which is pretty damn good. Too many unknowns this year, which could lead to the shithouse, or could lead to a damn fine season.

But I've never said we're on the level of Madrid, Bayern, Barca. Of course, when looked at rationally, we're weaker than all 3 and it will show over any extended period of seasons, assuming things continue as is. But we're not some transit team right now, that sells its best players frequently. We haven't shown any signs at all of being as such. Selling Vidal means nothing thus far. If we sell Pogba next summer, and don't pull a Buffon, THuram, Nedved type thing right off the bat, then this "transit team" argument has weight, but right now, there is no evidence at all for it.

I'd like to see us consistently playing in the CL QFs every year. That's where I am grounded. CL QFs and the scudetto (of course we'll eventually lose a couple, but hopefully that's a couple years away). Anything more is amazing.

Even if the season goes great, but we sell Vidal for 35m and don't get Gotze, it's going to be a terrible move unless Vidal does his ACL in the first week or something.

Except you're forgetting that Real bought Bale instead of Di Maria and we got Buffon, Thuram and Nedved after Zidane.

Now we seem to be getting Draxler instead of Vidal.

Just a small little detail.

Exactly.
