I just need to know if people realize that the appreciation alone in Arturo Vidal is enough to make up for all the money Marotta "wasted".

If you factor just Vidal and Pogba, the appreciation in those two from our initial investment must be near $60M.

I absolutely cringe when people list his good signings like Vidal, Pogba, Pirlo, Barzagli etc. and then equate them with BENDTNER AND ANELKA who together cost NOTHING. The difference in magnitude between the two sides of the Marotta spectrum is $#@!ing ENORMOUS.

If a team signs just one Vidal over 5 seasons they will gladly take 100 Anelkas. But Marotta has managed to sign a Vidal every season with Pirlo, Pogba, Barzagli, Lichtsteiner. Those are WC players for peanuts.

I mean this is getting insane. Someone says Marotta signed Vidal and the counter argument is that he signed Anelka. I would take 10 or 15 Anelkas if it meant getting ONE Vidal. My god have some perspective.
Vidal and Pogba were very good purchases however how about the likes of Quag, Matri, Anelka, Bendtner, Gio and Vucinic? Did this solve the problem? No, as stated before the cons outweight the pros

They were good purchases at that time. Vucinic proved to be crucial at certain periods.

Solve what problem? We won back to back scudetti and have the 2nd most goals over the past 2 seasons.

We purchased those strikers and they did a job. Were they super duper bargains? No. Did they score some fucking goals? Yes. All those guys scored goals in the CL. They all scored clutch goals throughout these past seasons. Well except Bendtner and Anelka who were 5th choice and cost almost $0 for fuck sake.

If you pay 10M for a striker and he scores some goals but not 30+ it's not a disaster. Jesus. Then you sell and get some of the money back. DURRRRRRR.

I don't know how else to say this but some of you guys are really just quite dumb in general.

Thats a very good statement. I dont even know if you watch Juve games but none of the strikers have done well. They were below par and very inconsistent, Mr.Genius

Well in 3 years he assembled a WC defense and midfield from thin air, looks like he just forgot the forwards. Fire him.

So Vidal, Barzagli, Pogba, Pirlo, clutch players in your opinion, created from thin air, under 12m. Players that are given most credit etc. Take them away for a minute, and you have spent 208m over three seasons, and suddenly the team doesn't look as impressive or infallible for the money spent.

- - - Updated - - -

his contract is yet to be renewed, the board and elkann have voiced reservations about our recruiting strategy. these are tantrums too?
No, his job isn't on the line. Coz he has single handedly won us two scudetti and taken us to the CL QF.

Have you broken down how that 208m was spent before in this thread?

Would be interested.
