Should we question Andrea's decision to keep hold of him also? It's Agnelli's (and the BoD's) decision on who gets the job and whether or not he should keep it, so surely they're accountable too?

Surely you all trust Andrea's judgement, seeing as no one is berating him in his relevant thread over his decision to continuously give Marotta his backing.

No sane team is going to make a major purchase in januari, unless its really neccecary.
I wouldn't say that.

No sane team is going to go and force a move to happen, because you will have to overpay significantly.

Different matter if an opportunity arises that can be taken advantage of, as happened with Milan and Balotelli.

The ingredients for a scudetto-win is in place. It's Conte's job now to ensure it happens.

Except for the shit finishing thing.

If Juve continue to not win because of unbelievably bad finishing, you can't blame Conte for that.

Peluso has won most if not every challenge he's been in since joining the team. If you can't see that you're just incredibly biased.

He fucked up on the cross to Gonzalez. That is a fact as well.

He has weaknesses. One I would say straight away is that he's too timid in his own box which cost us against Icardi for their 2nd goal. But it's still not necessarily his fault. Chiellini would have done better but that's why he's Chiellini and Peluso is Peluso. But it's not his fault we are giving away breakaways.

Ultimately Peluso is a backup so if you expect flawless performances then get ready to spend 15M on backups instead of 5M. And the fucker even scored a goal.
So what's the judgement on a player who does really good but fucks up when it matters? If you want to give credit for such a player then you are extremely biased.

As long as he wants.

Tbh i wasnt expecting anything this mercato so im not that disappointed. Sigining peluso though spoiled it for me. We could have got similar quality as a free signing.

Agreed. He still needs to fire them up, though, and have them play at their very best, but if they still can't take their chances then that is surely out of Conte's control.

And as happened between Juventus and Lisandro Lopez....oh wait.

So if we lose the scudetto because of bad finishing can we blame Marotta for that?

I don't understand. We finished (goals) so much stronger last year with essentially the same fucking players. I do blame Conte for that.

Formation IMO.

Or was it down to the fact that some players overperformed??

We're way past that. The Great Man has already proven himself.

Just because he doesn't supply unrealistic fans with a superstar striker in January, doesn't mean that he's not the right man for the job.

La storia continua.

:touched:
it is not so much the lack in 'superstar' signings that frustrates me, i came to accept that back in the summer, but it is more the signings we have made for the most part are just knee jerk, reaction signings plugged in with stop gap solutions. it's the fact that we could have spent our money on the players we do need, rather than next to last choice options which add next to nothing to the team, as i pointed out in another thread, we could have played the giovinco negotiations a lot better, instead of fearing the blind auctions and paying 11 mill we should have known that there was no way parma would offer a great amount for him in the auction since they can't, i recon we could have bought Giovinco for half that, certainly by no means as much as 11, further to that i just don't understand why we are not entering negotiations for David Villa, even at least for the summer the idea of Villa and llorente up front sounds damn better than belfodil and giovinco. That is what i can't comprehend and i'm really beginning to raise questions about marotta's abilities

Or actually did what they signed that multimillion dollar contract for?

In other words, they earned their paychecks.

No-one really knows what Lisandro was available for.

Given that the media started off claiming Juve had made a offer that would come to about 10m between loan and fee, only to then claim Juve were offering Lyon 4m to buy him, I don't think anyone knows what Juve offered either.

Unless he moves to another club tonight, I doubt there is going to be enough reliable information about to conclusively say that there was a missed opportunity.

I said at the end of the summer mercato that Juve should have signed Pazzini - I didn't think anyone better than that was realistically available - so criticism of Marotta would be justified in as much as he didn't get anyone other than Giovinco in in the summer.

It's an insult that you ignored his top notch panic move, Niklas Bendtner.

The Bendtner move didn't bother me.

Juve needed a fifth striker and, if there was no-one good available, he was better to sign the cheap, short-term option rather than burdening the club with a mediocre player on a longer term basis.

Same reason I don't have any major objection to the Anelka move.
