Im sure you must have followed Mario's exploits in England? As much as a talent as he is, the fact still remains that he's a loose cannon. Imagine the affect he would have on the harmony of this squad?

This wasn't as difficult a move as you'd expect either, Mario wanted Milan, Man City wanted rid and no other team was willing to take the risk on him him I reckon.

Besides, its quite rare for a player of his stature to move in the January transfer market. Can you name any other high profile forwards who were available to us in this window, realistic opportunities only?

Again, ignoring context and circumstance. We were a dire team with no appeal. No CL. Nothing.

We signed him, he did alright. Time to move on. Is anyone upset about where we are right now because we signed Matri? Really? He is what he is. A stepping stone. Popped in a few clutch goals and helped us transition to where we are now. We've already moved on with Llorente. What has Matri done to hold us back? What has his signing done?

Should we have invested in a crystal ball that would have told us to save that 17M and wait TWO years for Balotelli to fallout at Man City and then outbid his boyhood club? I guess?

43 starts, 23 goals. Let's not act like he did nothing for this team because he's not doing well right now.
I'm in no way comparing Matri transfer with Balotelii's, I'm not in that discussion, I just quoted that part that caught my eye.

He was not bad for us and was useful, I just don't rate him and IMO we should sell him as soon as possible.

Sure and Rossi is injury prone and Lisandro is getting older, the point is though that there transfer market is vast enough so there alwayscan e an option.
Marotta has failed miserably to sign players of our level, on certain spots. (LB, LM, CF and lately CB) and many pitiful excuses were made, excuses that hold no water because they were so absolute.
From the WC players to players we can afford, but would significantly upgrade our current option, there is a lot of middle ground, this transfer is somewhere there.
Not WC because of the reasons you mentioned, but still well above our current options and completely affordable/possible.

This is my only point here, i dont care that we have lost Mario or Rossi or whatever, i am pointing the fact that we have failed to get any of these in the past 4 transfer windows and we should stop making excuses!

At least I will not hear anything about our Coppa Italia status when members defend Marotta and Conte no matter what. One gone two more to go.

The funniest thing I heard was talk about the trebble....in fucking November.
