Ah here we go, Marotta's fault that Conte can't seem to breathe fire into our players.
Actually it's Marotta's fault he did not strengthen our weak points. In the beginning of the season we already knew that Asamoah will leave in January. In December we already knew about Chiellini's injury. And since the beginning of the season we were living our forwards ineptness (together with Bendtner's injury). In January where the opportunity is there to repair your team, Marotta goes and spends 5 M€ on Peluso who is NOT an upgrade to what we already have and brings Anelka who was going on retirement before we called him.

When we're winning, it's also due to Marotta - some are quick to say he's had a hand in us winning the scudetto. Marotta has some questionable buys, so therefore it's partly his fault if those players don't show up because he was the one getting them in the first place.

He provided what the coach asked for. Why do you on purpose ignore the fact that Conte tells him which players he wants and he tries to close those deals?!

Anelka is a Bendtner backup and adequate.

This same team last season ( with injuries ) swept away opposition with Barzagli - Bonucci - De Ceglie in the backline and Giac-cack-erini - Matri - Pepe up front. It's obvious that the players aren't performing, let's not make this about Marotta.-

Before mentioning skewed figures, lets not forget that Peluso is on loan right now.Maybe it is simply the case of the board unwilling to spend money right now and you can hardly blame Marotta in here tbh.

Oh and i'm actually fully convinced now that Padoin,Peluso and Giacch signings were all down to Conte.

Other teams keep scooping up the best of the best and give fuck all about the so called FFP rules. What has "balancing the books" gotten us? Absolutely shit.
:agree:

And if you consider all the money spent on crap players, we could've bought a striker who knows how to put the ball on the net.

But Marotta decides to buy the Isla's, pelusos, padoins, Giacherrinis of the world. Thats 35 mil between those players

Marotta works with the budget that the board approves. Why is this discussion even being held in this thread?

Ah of course, Cheesio bit on the fallacy - because that's just what he does

The great man is going to lose that title when we lose ours later this season. And suddenly we'll realise that Bendtner, Anelka, Peluso just don't cut it in footballing terms. Yes Balotelli wanted Meelan, but that got his salary down, it has to take some decent negotiating to bring his cost down to 20m however. Unfortunately a deal like that is out of Marrotta's league. Not that I want Mario here. Again next season, we'll then promise more WC arrivals, while we aim for CL qualification next year, and overachieve as winter champs. Now that I'm done let's go back to praising him for getting us the mighty Llorente in a free.

If the coach asked for Peluso then he should be sacked.
If Conte prefers Anelka over Lisandro Lopez then he should be sacked.
If Conte does not want Lucio then he should be sacked.

These are the January makings and I really don't want to go through the summer.

with that budget he bought all the crap players i listed and that list wasnt exaustive, wasting millions on the way, failing to sign a proper striker for 3 years on a row, kicking trezeguet out and overpaying for the likes of matri and quag.

A passinate coach and a hungry team can only get you this far, you need WC talent something we lack outside of two or three players, thats what made Juve great back in the days a mixture of WC talent and hard working players, Marotta cant get that.

in retrospect getting rid of lucio was a very bad move. imo he would have been alot more solid than caceres and peluso. i think lucio wanted to play more, which is understandable, but conte fielded marrone and caseres instead.

I can see how that convo would unfold.

Marotta "hey antonio, who do ya want?"
Conta "A striker obviously."
Marotta "i'll get us van persie. i just bid 7 million! dollars for him whoohoo"
Conte "uhm ok"

2 hours later

Marotta "yo antonio buddy, this van persie thing ain't coming through, i'm pretty sure 7 million was enough but he probably wants to stay in england like the little pussy he is"
Conte "aww that sucks, what now? Can you get someone like Llorente or something?"
Marotta ":troll: yeah....next summer! but don't worry, while i was talking to arsenal about van persie I was able to trick them into giving me bendtner on a free loan! i just googled him and omg, he's so tall! you're gonna love him"
Conte "you fucking troll. what about defense?"
Marotta "oh about that. I got you Peluso! you know how you've been talking him up and all that?"
Conte "oh i guess that's good"
Marotta "and I only paid like 5 million for him so we're good"
